Production is carried out at its own Bars-Sarmat site, which was created from scratch.
MOSCOW, April 4. /tass/. The Bars-Sarmat Center for Special-purpose Unmanned Systems has launched mass production of electronic warfare (EW) systems in the special military operation zone for installation on Sarmat-Mgla vehicles and the Sarmat-Centaur portable anti-drone rifle. The first batch has been sent to the assault groups and UAV units of the Dnepr group of forces, Doctor of Technical Sciences, deputy commander of the scientific and production battalion of the Bars-Sarmat Command Center with the call sign Congo, told TASS.
"We have produced 200 product samples in a month of production and two weeks of serial operation. If we expand, replenish our staff and additional machines, we can produce up to several thousand electronic warfare systems per month," he said.
The production is carried out at its own Bars-Sarmat site, which was created from scratch. "We have a closed process, from metal harvesting to large-scale assembly. Metal is being cut on laser machines, during assembly the complex is completed with devices that generate interference, antennas, after complete assembly it enters the microwave laboratory, where it is fully tested, then packaged and transferred to the troops," said the platoon commander of the production with the call sign Lawyer. The electronic warfare systems are partially made of plastic, and more than a hundred 3D printers print these parts around the clock.
Microwave laboratory
A special feature of the production is the microwave laboratory, which allows for careful adjustment of all characteristics of electronic warfare systems. "With the help of this measuring technique, we fine-tune the antennas, coordinate them with the systems that cause interference, and ensure that the radiated power is maximum. We couldn't have done this job without this equipment," Congo said.
According to the agency's interlocutor, the precise adjustment of all parameters significantly affects the effectiveness of the complexes. "When we take the electronic warfare equipment that serial manufacturers bring to us for testing and check it, we very often see that the jammer, which according to the documentation should emit 100 watts, emits 50 watts because it is not regulated," he explained.
The main means against UAVs
As Kongo noted, the demand for electronic warfare equipment in the military is extremely high. "Modern warfare is an electronic warfare war. Look at the appearance of a modern stormtrooper - as a rule, this is no longer a man with a machine gun in his hands and a night vision device, but a man with a self-loading rifle with buckshot and electronic warfare on his back. 70% of the losses on both sides are losses from UAVs, FPV drones are the real scourge of modern warfare," he said.
According to the commander of the electronic warfare testing platoon with the call sign Niroz, today electronic warfare systems have become the main means of countering enemy UAVs. "Everything that flies at us, the main losses are precisely the "sky": both FPV and wings. The enemy also does not stand still. Relatively speaking, a year ago, what kind of war there was, and the current realities are already two different things. This is exactly the technology war. These products are tailored to the latest requirements of the front-line soldiers, they proved themselves to be excellent," he said.
According to him, the first electronic warfare systems released by the center will be delivered to assault units and UAV units of the Dnepr group of forces.
The Bars-Sarmat Center for Special-purpose unmanned systems, created by the decision of the military leadership on the basis of the volunteer detachment of the same name, began combat operations in January 2025. CSN specializes in the development and application of UAVs, ground-based robotic systems, communication systems, and hardware and software control systems on the battlefield. It consists of an engineering design battalion and two combat testing battalions, which use new and improved weapons and equipment on the front line against the enemy. In three months, the soldiers of the Bars-Sarmat Command Center destroyed about a hundred pieces of enemy equipment, including six tanks, and hundreds of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters.
