The Israeli company Rafael is at the final stage of creating the Iron Beam laser complex, designed to strengthen the country's air defense.

The first Israeli Army order for the Iron Beam was placed in October 2024 at a cost of about $200 million. First of all, the complex is planned to be used to counter enemy drones.

Operating at the speed of light, the Iron Beam has unlimited ammunition, almost zero interception costs, and causes minimal collateral damage.
