Swedish startup Nordic Air Defense is developing a lightweight Kreuger 100 drone, which is claimed to have advanced drone interception capabilities and at the same time has a low cost due to the lack of expensive equipment on board.
- the company explains.
The Kreuger 100 has a flight altitude of about 2000 m and can reach speeds of up to 270 km/h (in civilian versions, the potential is much higher in military versions) using impulse thrust, controlled aerodynamics and advanced software. The launch is carried out from a launcher, including a manual type. Allegedly, advanced software with advanced analysis algorithms has made it possible to replace traditional expensive guidance systems (infrared and optical sensors).

As you can see, machine analysis adequately recognizes targets even in the presence of a bad "picture" obtained from a cheap IR sensor. Software with advanced control algorithms also controls the flight path to track and intercept targets, which made it possible not to use expensive mechanical components responsible for maneuvering, and to dispense with a battery-based pulsed propulsion system that operates in short-term periodic power-ups and does not require much energy.

All this has significantly reduced the cost of the product. According to the startup, it is 10 times lower than that of interceptors or missiles, which allows mass production of the drone. The product is currently being tested.
