The fighters will have the opportunity to prepare in advance to repel an air raid.
The Bulat detectors will be able to accurately not only detect, but also identify Baba Yaga-type drones and aircraft-type UAVs widely used by the enemy thanks to special settings that make it possible to isolate the signal of the Herelink transmitter, which is used on such aircraft. In good weather conditions, Russian military personnel will be able to learn about their approach at a distance of 20 km. This will allow Russian soldiers to respond to the threat in a timely manner and save their lives, experts say.
He finds out by flying
Now, Russian military personnel can determine with a high degree of probability which drone is approaching them. This became possible due to the fact that the developers trained the artificial intelligence of the Bulat drone detector to detect the Herelink transmitter, which is usually used on Baba Yaga agricultural drones and aircraft-type drones.

—Baba Yaga is a dangerous UAV capable of causing serious damage to equipment and shelters," Sergey Shandobylo, director of development at the 3mx development company, told Izvestia. — They are deadly for personnel, because they can carry bulky and heavy cargo, including explosive devices with a high radius of destruction. Bulat warns fighters in advance of the approach of a drone with a Herelink transmitter, so that personnel can make timely decisions to ensure safety. The feedback from the fighters was positive!
According to the developers, before that, there was no drone detector in the SVO zone capable of detecting drones with Herelink transmitters, now an updated Bulat has appeared.
Currently, there are many unmanned aerial vehicles of various types flying in the sky in the zone of a special military operation, military expert Yuri Lyamin told Izvestia.
"In particular, they can be scouts or bombers,— he said. — And if you know what exactly is approaching the unit, then you can react competently, suffering minimal or no damage. The range of the Bulat also allows you to disguise a weapon or equipment.

To set up interference and jam enemy UAVs, you need to know which device is flying, expert Dmitry Kornev told Izvestia.
—The fact that the Herelink transmitter has been included in the library of detectable devices significantly expands the capabilities of detection systems, and in the future— systems for suppressing the operation of these transmitters," he noted. — The only question is that this kind of work should be carried out systematically, constantly. And updating information about certain devices from a potential adversary should occur regularly, not every few years. Because the transmitters used by the Baba Yaga type drone have been in use for at least two years, and maybe even more. Still, such updates should happen much faster. And then the effectiveness of the fight against drones will be much higher.
Military devices with artificial intelligence
Earlier, Izvestia wrote that in April last year, the fourth version of the Bulat with artificial intelligence was tested both in the measuring laboratories of the 3mx team and at landfills, and according to their results, the Ministry of Defense recommended it for purchase.

According to the developers, the built—in AI can distinguish UAV signals from wireless networks - WiFi routers, Bluetooth devices, cellular communication stations - even if their signals overlap each other in a certain frequency band. It is also capable of detecting drones with low-power transmitters, whose signals are difficult to distinguish against the background of interference on the air.
The fourth version of the detector covers a wide range of frequencies: from 300 to 6200 MHz.
3mx created the artificial intelligence for Bulat independently and trained it to scan more than 150 unique signatures of various types of drones.
An individual notification device "Tair" was created as a kit for the Bulat. It is made in the form of a smartwatch. When the Bulat v.4 drone is detected, it sends all the data to the Taira display. As a result, the type or brand of the UAV, its frequency and the time of the last detection are displayed on the watch screen.

In the Russian Armed Forces, special attention is paid to drone protection. Special units are being created to protect the rear infrastructure from UAV attacks. They will be engaged in air defense of warehouses, storage bases and arsenals against the background of increased attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on such facilities.
And since this winter, our troops have begun to erect anti-drone barriers along the roads in the SVO zone. These are already multi-kilometer tunnels from the networks under which vehicles move.
