Russia has offered India a technology transfer agreement in case of acquisition of the Su-57 fighter jet. At the same time, it provides for the possibility of integrating equipment into this aircraft that New Delhi wishes to install.
A senior representative of the Indian Air Force told IDRW about this, saying that, first of all, the Su-57 needs to refine the radar.:
According to him, the export version of the Su-57E is equipped with a nose radar with AFAR X-band H036 "Belka", which includes 1514 receiving / transmitting modules (T/R). Although this radar represents a significant improvement over the older mechanically scanning arrays, it still uses GaAs technology.
Radars based on GaN have much higher performance. These include the Indian Uttam AFAR radar, consisting of more than 1,400 receiving/transmitting modules. Thanks to the more advanced technology, Uttam is claimed to have higher power output, improved thermal management, and benefits in detection range, resolution, and target tracking capabilities.

Uttam Onboard Radar
For our part, we note that this radar, which is being developed for the promising Indian AMCA fighter and for upgrading the Su-30MKI to the Super Sukhoi level, was recently presented to the general public and is being presented in the country as a major technological breakthrough, although its creation has not yet been completed. However, this does not bother the anonymous representative of the Air Force, who considers this radar as a trump card that can change the course of negotiations on the purchase of the Su-57.:
According to him, although Russia has officially offered India the Su-57, the country's Air Force has not yet made a final decision.
