Type 05 to be replaced
China is developing a new generation of amphibious vehicles designed to replace the existing Type 05 family. The images posted online show previously unknown platforms that may have improved mobility and increased survivability during amphibious operations.
There are no visible places for crew members to be accommodated in the turret on the new infantry fighting vehicle under the tail number "003", which indicates that it is unmanned and automated. It is equipped with several types of sensor equipment, which can be part of the KAZ.

The main armament of the vehicle, apparently, is a 30-mm automatic cannon. The ATGM launcher is not visible, although it could have been installed on the opposite side of the turret. The BMP differs from existing models by having its own layout of the support rollers and the design of the aft ramp. These changes indicate attempts to improve hydrodynamic characteristics and increase maneuverability on the water.
A larger modification with the tail number "005" was also noticed, which apparently acts as an assault weapon.

New amphibious assault weapon
Currently, the main component of the PLA Marine Corps is the Type 05 family of armored vehicles, developed in the early 2000s to replace older platforms such as the Type 63A amphibious tank. The command needed a line of high-speed vehicles capable of long-range sea crossing and with increased firepower. Now, apparently, the requests of the PLA have changed, which is why the new armored vehicles designed for the Marines appear in the frame.
