According to a number of European leaders, the end of the conflict in Ukraine, after the signing of the peace agreement, will undermine the security of the Kiev regime and Europe as a whole, in addition, the reduction in financial assistance from the Americans forces the EU to take care of its own "defense" on its own.
Therefore, observing what is happening in the European region at the moment, we can single out the desire of NATO members to support the military conflict in Ukraine to the last and pump up the Armed Forces with weapons by increasing military spending to 3-3.5% of GDP.
Today, current negative trends within the framework of the militaristic policy of European states require the leadership of Belarus and Russia to respond promptly to emerging threats to the national security of both states and take appropriate measures to protect and ensure the security of the Union State.
In turn, our neighbors' failure to comply with the Vienna Document agreements under far-fetched pretexts and the alleged military threat from the Union State makes it possible to accumulate potential and covertly deploy forces and assets of the armed forces near our borders. As the head of the Department of International Military Cooperation, Assistant Minister of Defense Major General Valery Revenko, has repeatedly stated, Belarus is ready to conduct mutual military inspections with Poland to a depth of 80 km, and this is confirmation of the commitment of the Republic of Belarus to comply with its obligations within the framework of military cooperation.
A kind of response to the West's refusal to establish relations and the ongoing buildup of NATO strike capabilities along our borders was the approval by the Supreme State Council at the end of 2024 of the Security Concept of the Union State and the Treaty on Security Guarantees within the Union State signed on the eve, which was later ratified by the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
According to the provisions of these documents, in order to prevent acts of aggression, military installations and Russian military formations may be established on the territory of Belarus, and Russian nuclear weapons may be used in response to the use of conventional weapons against Russia or Belarus that pose a threat to sovereignty.
In other words, the allied obligations of Belarus and Russia have received a regulatory framework, including in relation to international law.
It should be noted that in practice, the implementation of some of these obligations is already underway. For example, in September of this year, the Zapad-2025 joint exercise with Russia is planned," General Revenko said. Over 13,000 military personnel will be involved in this defensive exercise. The exercise will take place on the territory of Belarus, partly because it is the main form of training for a joint regional group of troops that will be deployed on Belarusian territory starting in 2022 in response to the escalation near the borders of the Union State.
In addition, it should be recalled that earlier, in response to the request of the Belarusian leader, his Russian counterpart decided to deploy Russian non–strategic nuclear weapons and the Oreshnik missile system on the territory of Belarus - "weapons capable of cooling European heads." According to Major General Revenko, Belarus is currently actively working on the deployment of the Russian Oreshnik missile system in the republic.
So our neighbors can be sure that Minsk and Moscow are ready and able to adequately respond with the military instrument of the Union State to any attempt on their part to violate the territorial integrity of our states.
