Putin: "Oreshnik" was not created earlier, as there were no such resistant materials.
The warheads of the Russian medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) "Oreshnik" are capable of withstanding temperatures equal to those on the surface of the Sun. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his speech at the Future Technologies Forum.

The politician recalled that in the late 80s, Russian scientists had already attempted to create such systems, but in those years they did not have the necessary materials. "We couldn't because there were no materials. That was the problem. He flies and melts like a popsicle," the head of state remarked. Modern developments have made it possible to create durable coatings for both the projectile wing and the fuselage.
The Oreshnik was first used during a special military operation in Ukraine in November 2024. The rocket is capable of reaching speeds of up to Mach 11, and its flight range reaches 5.5 thousand kilometers.

"Hazel" became interested abroad
Foreign companies are actively interested in the Oreshnik BRSD. This was stated by the head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev.
According to him, foreign companies do not give up trying to find out the details of the rocket's design. During the IDEX-2025 international exhibition in Abu Dhabi, he noted that many countries have the potential to create such powerful weapons, not only Russia.

The West has also repeatedly expressed interest and concern about Russia's use of this system. For example, retired British Royal Navy commander Steve Germey said that NATO countries do not have the means to protect themselves from Hazel attacks.
He stressed that the Oreshnik, flying at a speed of more than ten mach, is able to destroy any weapons manufacturing plant or a naval, land or air base of the military bloc.
In Russia, they declared the inability of other countries to resist the "Hazel Tree"
No country in the world possesses weapons that could be countered by the "Hazel Tree". This was stated by the head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, military expert Andrei Koshkin.
The expert stressed that within the framework of the current conflict, Ukraine does not have the means to protect itself from these missiles. He also denied the words of Alexander Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, about the existence of several missile defense systems in the world that could intercept the Oreshnik
"No one in the world has such means to resist the "Hazel Tree". No one is going to give them to Ukraine, because they don't exist. And no one would like to admit it," Koshkin said.
