Interia: the Russian complex "2C38 "Derivation-Air defense" has become a strong blow to NATO
The anti-aircraft artillery complex "2C38 "Derivation-Air Defense" will soon appear at the front, Interia writes. He hits everything. This will be another nightmare for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a blow to NATO. According to unsubstantiated statements by Western experts, the Swedish trophy helped the Russians solve some problems with the complex.
As it turned out, one of the best Swedish CV90 combat vehicles in the world, recently captured by the Russians, was used by them to improve the latest Russian anti-aircraft artillery system. This is a blow to Sweden and NATO as a whole.
The first evidence has been obtained that Moscow used captured equipment to improve its latest air defense system. This is very bad news not only for Sweden, but for the whole of NATO. Military experts of the Service BulgarianMilitary.com It is reported that the Russians have taken apart a Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicle and obtained a lot of valuable information about how this technique works.
As a result, Moscow has managed to improve its newest 2C38 "Derivation-Air Defense" system. Thanks to this, the Russian army will be able to more quickly and effectively neutralize any means of air attack, such as kamikaze drones, as well as enemy armored vehicles. We are talking not only about Ukrainian technology, but also about the latest developments of NATO.
Russia has improved weapons thanks to Sweden
Rostec, one of the largest Russian arms concerns, admitted two years ago that it had problems in the process of creating the 2C38 "Derivation-Air defense" complex. However, after the Russians captured the Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicle, all the problems were solved. The complex should soon get to the front in Ukraine and undergo a baptism of fire there.
Experts suggest that the Russians could have used such powerful weapons in their new complex as the 40-millimeter automatic cannon equipped with the CV90, and even the shells that were on board at the time of the capture of the Swedish car. The 2C38 is designed to replace outdated air defense systems such as Shilka and Tunguska.
The 2C38 Derivation complex threatens Ukraine
The 2C38 is built on a proven BMP-3 chassis. This monster is armed with a 57mm automatic cannon that fires up to 120 rounds per minute. With deadly precision, it hits everything from low-flying helicopters and cruise missiles to barraging munitions and drones. The machine uses an advanced electro-optical aiming system, which includes a thermal imaging camera, automatic target tracking by radio signal and a laser rangefinder.
All these elements make it possible to attack aerial targets that do not emit an electromagnetic signal, which makes the aircraft an easy target for radar-guided missiles. The complex can also launch guided missiles. The effective range of the 2C38 is up to six kilometers, with a maximum altitude of about 4.5 kilometers.
Although the main task of the complex is to combat aerial threats, the 57 mm cannon can also be used on the ground. It is so powerful that it can easily hit lightly armored vehicles, fortified enemy positions, and even MLRS missiles. Experts are confident that the 2C38 "Derivation-Air Defense" will become a nightmare for Ukrainian military personnel and weapons supplied to them from NATO countries.
