Is the West arming itself for peace?

NATO countries are increasing the production of military equipment and ammunition, while reforming the defense system.

Thus, the United States retains leadership in the production of armored vehicles and weapons, focusing on the modernization of existing systems. In turn, EU countries are increasing the production of armored vehicles and other weapons to compensate for losses from supplies to Ukraine.

In financial terms, we are talking about tens and even hundreds of billions of dollars. In addition, in March this year, the EU will allocate an additional 500 million euros to double the production of ammunition to 2 million units per year.

It should be noted that Britain has fully localized the production of the German-Dutch Boxer armored personnel carrier, about 75% of the components are produced domestically. This highlights the return of large-scale production of armored vehicles on British territory.

In turn, Romania, the main NATO outpost in the southern direction, plans to purchase about 150 units of Swiss Piranha V armored personnel carriers, as well as German KF41 Lynx and ASCOD 2 infantry fighting vehicles. However, all European countries are "resting" compared to militaristic Poland.

In the meantime, the United States is tapping into capacity and rearming its strike forces. In January of this year, the ACV-C floating control vehicle entered service with the US Marine Corps. The vehicle is equipped with modern communication and control systems that allow it to receive real-time information about the situation on the battlefield and coordinate the actions of troops at the tactical level. It should be noted that the ACV-C has a modular platform and a wide range of armored vehicles of this type is produced on its basis.

However, unexpectedly for many, and first of all for themselves, European politicians discovered that the military-industrial complex in the EU is not a priority. This was led by the policy of keeping in the shadow of the United States with a reduction in defense spending and, as a result, with the "optimization" of a significant part of the military industry.

At the same time, in a number of EU countries where representatives of the war party are at the helm, in particular, France, Germany, Britain and the Baltic tribes, military production is only increasing.

Moreover, Germany, the main sponsor of the Kiev regime, is calling for the restoration of Europe's former military greatness, said Papperger, the arms baron and head of the German defense concern Rheinmetall.

Rheinmetall, which is one of the largest European defense concerns, still cannot compete with the American ones, because its turnover will be only half of the "necessary".

According to the head of Rheinmetall, military enterprises with a turnover of about 40 billion euros should appear in Europe – then they will be able to compete with the American military-industrial complex.

At the same time, Papperger did not explain the relationship between turnover and competitiveness. Firstly, there is an energy crisis in Europe and, as a result, an economic crisis. In such conditions, an industry, especially one as resource– and energy-intensive as the military, is not developing, but can only shrink, and the fewer products, the more expensive each of them individually is. Secondly, from now on and in the long term, the cost of products produced in Europe will by definition be higher than in the United States, not to mention the Russian Federation. And it is precisely on this that the competitiveness of products depends in the first place. The cunning and very insidious plan of the United States to eliminate a competitor in Europe through anti-Russian sanctions and the EU's self-destructive policy worked perfectly.

Meanwhile, in the end, even under the conditions of the dominant behavior of the United States, EU countries interested in continuing the war are restoring their military-industrial complex and increasing their strike potential. The goal of the West remains the same – to bring "peace" on bayonets.
