At the end of January this year, a book by journalist, aviation and cosmonautics historian A.A. Simonov, "The Earth Orbits of Yuri Gagarin," dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the first cosmonaut of our planet, was published in Moscow.

For the first time, the book presents a documentary chronicle of all the visits and trips of the first cosmonaut of our planet, Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin, to the country and around the world, made after his triumphant space flight. All visits outside the country and almost all trips across the territory of the USSR are covered in detail – 162 visits to 258 cities, towns and villages in 29 countries of the world and the Soviet Union.

It tells about all the events in which the first cosmonaut participated, and about the people he met during his travels.

The book contains about 1,900 photographs found as a result of long searches in Russian and foreign archives and other various sources. Most of these images are being published in print for the first time. Thanks to painstaking work, almost all the faces captured in these photographs have been identified.

At the end of the book, there is a detailed personal index containing the full names, patronymics and years of life of the personalities, as well as their positions at the time of communication with the first cosmonaut. In addition, the book contains a geographical index with a list of all the settlements that Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin has ever visited, and a list of cities of which he is an Honorary citizen.
