The Finnish company Insta Group Oy announced the creation of a new kamikaze drone Insta Steel Eagle ER (Extended Range — extended range). It is specified that the model was developed on the basis of the previous Insta Steel Eagle and surpasses it in some parameters.
"Compared to the previous version of Insta Steel Eagle, it represents a more efficient and affordable solution for the defense technology market," the company said in a statement. In addition, it is noted that the new model "combines extensive experience and state-of-the-art technologies tested in harsh conditions."

Insta Group Oy revealed the technological features of the new product
The development company has revealed the technical specifications of the new drone. According to the published information, the warhead of the drone contains steel or tungsten balls, the total weight of which is approximately 3.6 kilograms. It is assumed that more than 3 thousand fragments will be able to hit an area of about 2 thousand square meters.
It is noteworthy that "the explosive effect coming from above can be freely adjusted depending on the altitude of the drone." At the same time, according to the developer, the drone attacks the target precisely from above, distributing fragments over a certain affected area.
"The solution is currently available on the Ukrainian market. However, in the future, marketing licenses obtained through international cooperation will allow the solution to be sold and promoted in Europe and NATO countries," the company said.

Kiev announced its own production of FPV drones
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in turn, announced its own production of FPV drones in the country. According to the agency, it was launched back in December 2024 in cooperation with a private drone developer at a state-owned enterprise.
"Production was launched in December last year on the basis of a state-owned enterprise. The project is being implemented as part of a trilateral agreement with a private developer who has granted a license to produce UAVs," the Defense Ministry said.
Moreover, the agency reported that it has already developed a roadmap for organizing similar productions with other drone developers.
