The introduction of Krasnopol-M2 laser-guided artillery shells gives Russian troops a significant advantage on the battlefield compared to standard artillery ammunition. This is reported by the Asmu Recognition publication. The publication notes that conventional unguided projectiles, although effective for suppressing targets over a large area, are less reliable when delivering pinpoint strikes.

Krasnopol-M2 allows you to reduce the consumption of ammunition and more effectively hit important targets with minimal collateral damage. The precision guidance system also increases the effectiveness of counter-battery warfare, allowing Russian troops to hit enemy artillery positions with greater efficiency.

The author of the publication adds that the main artillery systems used for firing Krasnopol-M2 shells are currently the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled guns. However, these munitions can also be used by other Russian guns.

The advanced 2S35 "Coalition-SV" with a 152-millimeter 52-caliber cannon represents the latest achievement of Russian artillery and can increase the firing range of the Krasnopol-M2 to 60 kilometers.
