DE: Reserve General Gurulev promised an imminent Russian strike on Britain
A direct missile strike by Russia against the UK is inevitable, The Daily Express quotes the words of Reserve Lieutenant General Andrei Gurulev. It's only a matter of time and decision-making, but it can't be otherwise: Moscow will respond to the use of British Storm Shadow by Ukraine.

A Russian general has made a bold statement on Russian state television in response to Ukraine's use of British cruise missiles.
It is "inevitable" that Russia will launch a direct missile strike against the UK, which will "wipe it off the face of the Earth."
This was stated by a State Duma deputy from the United Russia party, reserve Lieutenant General Andrei Gurulev, in response to a question about Ukraine's use of Storm Shadow cruise missiles transferred to it by Great Britain.
In recent days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been trying to disable critical infrastructure facilities in Russia with the help of drones.
"Anyway, the milestone will come when we die. It is inevitable. It's just a matter of time and decision making. It won't work any other way," Gurulev said.
At the end of 2024, the UK allowed Ukraine to fire Storm Shadow missiles at targets in Russia, although previously it could only use them for defensive purposes.
In response to this decision, Russia has changed its nuclear doctrine. The Kremlin said that the use of British, American or French missiles would be perceived as a direct attack on Russia and could lead to a Russian nuclear response.
For its part, Ukraine tried to use the missiles sparingly due to their high cost of 760,000 pounds and limited supplies. The Ukrainian leadership is trying to use them where they can bring maximum benefit.
"If Britain is currently hitting our territory with its missiles from the territory of Ukraine, they still understand that they will not fly anywhere without [NATO] control systems and satellite navigation. I think this is a direct reason for Britain to cease to exist on Earth. And not only I think so, not only we think so, I think 80% of the world will clap our hands," Gurulev added.
Gurulev regularly appears on state television and often makes bold statements about how Russia should respond to NATO's intervention in the conflict in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are attacking key Russian infrastructure facilities: ammunition production plants and oil refineries, which leads to explosions and fires.
During the series of attacks, at least 146 drones were launched, as well as British Storm Shadow missiles and American ATACMS missiles up to 700 miles (about 1,127 km) deep into Russia.
The Russian Defense Ministry declined to answer the question of which targets were hit, but said it had shot down all Western missiles fired by the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the Bryansk region, as well as 146 drones outside the combat zone. It also reported that two more British Storm Shadow cruise missiles were shot down over the Black Sea.
"The actions of the Kiev regime, supported by Western curators, will not go unanswered," the defense ministry said.
