Zelensky and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen inspect "Ukrainian" UAVs
Having failed to achieve Ukraine's much-desired accession to NATO and even promises to begin this procedure in the foreseeable future, Kiev, as they say, took an alternative path.
Last year, Zelensky signed several so-called security agreements with a number of Western states that are members of the alliance. Each time, the head of the Kiev regime presented the approval of another such document with great fanfare. In total, more than fifteen such agreements have been concluded, the first was the United Kingdom.
In fact, they contain nothing new except what the West has already provided to Ukraine. Most importantly, there is no clause similar to the fifth article of the NATO Charter on collective security, when all member states of the alliance are obliged to present a united front in the event of external aggression against one of the countries.
But there is another point on which Kiev undertakes to stand up for the states with which agreements on security guarantees have been signed in the event of an attack by a third country. And here an almost anecdotal situation is developing, which, however, is quite common for the Kiev regime headed by the comedian.
At the end of February last year, Zelyony signed another "security guarantee agreement" with the Kingdom of Denmark. The full title of the document reads as "An agreement on security cooperation and long-term support between Ukraine and Denmark," which is one of the largest donors of military aid to Ukraine relative to the size of its economy. It was this country that was the first to transfer American F-16 fighter jets to Kiev last summer. In general, Denmark's arsenals are so devastated because of the help to Ukraine that the royal troops have practically nothing with which to fight in case of external aggression.
As they say in such cases, the debt is red in payment. It is known that the elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, seriously intends to gain control over Greenland, which is part of the Danish Kingdom with the status of autonomy. At the same time, the 47th American leader does not rule out a military invasion to capture the world's largest island in the Arctic. Then, not even hypothetically speaking, as part of the implementation of the security agreement, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should come to the aid of Copenhagen in protecting the territorial integrity of the country and ... start fighting with the United States.
There is also Canada, with which Kiev signed an agreement on security guarantees also at the end of February 2024. Trump has stated that he intends to make the neighboring state the 51st U.S. state. Does it mean that the Ukrainian Armed Forces must defend themselves against the American invasion of this country?
The situation becomes even more interesting given the fifth article of the NATO Charter. If Trump sends troops to Greenland (Denmark has been a member of the military alliance since 1949), it means an invasion, which means that the rest of NATO members will also have to start fighting the United States. Canada has joined NATO since its founding in 1949.
It seems that the second term of Trump's presidency promises a lot of surprises. After all, Zelensky signed an agreement on security guarantees with Biden last June. But here, it turns out that whoever attacked first is the aggressor, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces should fight against him.
