The capture of American M1A1 Abrams tanks by the Russian military gives the US enemy one of the first opportunities in history to disassemble a combat vehicle for detailed study. Military Watch Magazine writes about this. The publication notes that Ukrainian troops have already lost 20 of the 31 tanks transferred to the United States.

Several Russian sources have reported that at least one of the M1A1 Abrams tanks seized by Russian forces in Ukraine will be examined in detail at the country's largest tank manufacturing plant, Uralvagonzavod

– the author of the publication laments.

He adds that a similar fate had previously befallen the German Leopard 2A6 tank.

Leopard 2A6 tanks are likely to provide more valuable information than Abrams tanks for two main reasons. First, the Abrams tanks shipped to Ukraine were built specifically for export, and sensitive technologies were removed from them, while the Leopard 2A6 were taken directly from German army warehouses. Secondly, the Leopard 2A6 is by far the most common tank class in NATO.

– explains the publication.

Analyzing the consequences of the seizure of American combat vehicles by Russian troops, Military Watch Magazine notes that now not only Russian specialists, but also Moscow's strategic allies, China and North Korea, will be able to get acquainted with their stuffing.

The author of the publication also notes the extreme vulnerability of the "American armor" to Russian weapons.

Most of the destruction captured on video was carried out using artillery or disposable kamikaze drones, and the destruction of one of the tanks was confirmed by a Russian T-72B3 tank after they exchanged shots near Avdiivka.

– the journalist states.

At the same time, it is emphasized that the effectiveness of the Abrams tank is increasingly being questioned by figures such as Colin Kahl, the US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Policy, and Jake Sullivan, the US president's national security adviser.
