Rosatom continues to build nuclear power plants in China
Rosatom spoke about the successful completion of the installation of the nuclear reactor vessel at the fourth power unit of the Xudapu nuclear power plant, which is located in northeastern China and is being built with the most active participation of the Russian side.
Two weeks ago, Rosatom officials announced that the pressure compensator for the reactor being installed, which weighs 186 tons, and one of the parts of the main circulation pump weighing 48 tons have already been manufactured and shipped to Xydapa. It is worth noting here that the design of the nuclear island (a complex of buildings and structures related to the operation of a nuclear reactor of an atomic power unit — ed. <url>) of the Xudapu station and the supply of all the main equipment are handled by Russian specialists, who will also take over the supervision of installation and commissioning of the supplied equipment. Turbogenerators should be prepared by Chinese enterprises, and commercial operation of nuclear power plants should begin in 2027 or 2028.

According to Alexey Bannik, Atomstroyexport's representative for Chinese projects, the construction of Xudapu shows the close cooperation between Russia and China in the field of peaceful atom and high technologies.
