On December 6, 2024, Sweden and Denmark, having purchased new CV9035 MkIIIC IFVs for their own needs, did not forget about Ukraine: Copenhagen will allocate $264 million to purchase 40 armored vehicles of the same type for the Armed Forces.
As indicated by BAE Systems Hägglunds, the CV9035 MkIIIC is the latest modification of the CV90 BMP, manufactured in Sweden since 1993. Unlike previous models, the new version will use the Mark III chassis, equipped with the Iron Fist KAZ, will receive a new digital architecture and Israeli Spike LR anti-tank missiles integrated into the D-Turret.
The French Akeron MP ATGM is not planned to be used, since its refinement for integration with the IFV has not yet begun, and deliveries require urgency. The difference between Swedish and Danish machines will only be in locally produced equipment such as control systems and radio communications.
- the contractor explained.
As indicated in the company, the assembly lines in Ernsheldsvik, Sweden, are quite busy: the BvS10 two-link tracked armored all-terrain vehicle is being produced for Sweden, Britain and Germany; the Beowulf production for the United States has been launched [the American version of BvS10]; mobile mortars are being manufactured; production ramp-up begins according to Slovak and Czech programs, the first CV90 chassis are ready, they will soon begin assembly.

BAE Systems began investing in its plant in Sweden in 2023. Investments in the amount of $300 million are planned to be carried out until 2025, and by the end of this year, productivity will increase 5 times. However, the company's policy is to redistribute work between partner countries. Some of the work, including on the Ukrainian batch of CV9035 MkIIIC, will be performed by Denmark and Norway.
- it is noted in the publication Army Recognition.
As indicated, in June 2023, Stockholm handed over 50 CV9040 BMP to the APU. This model is the standard version of the machine used by mechanized units of the Swedish army. In contrast, the CV9035 MkIIIC is a significant step forward. The newest version, while retaining the Bushmaster III 35 mm automatic cannon from previous modifications, was armed with ATGMs, which significantly increase the combat potential of the machine.
- indicated in the publication.
As explained, the SLA will provide fast and accurate guidance, and the modular armor will provide reliable protection, being able to withstand RPG shots, artillery fragments and cannon fire [from IFVs], which significantly exceeds the defensive capabilities of standard IFVs.
- the conclusion is made in the publication.
