For the first time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used the Polish Gavia tank to attack the Crimean Bridge
On the night of December 6, the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the first time used the latest Polish unmanned boats "Gavia" to attack the Crimean Bridge, writes Mash. The Russian military destroyed surface drones with the help of aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet and Raptor boats.
For the first time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attempted to attack the Crimean Bridge using the latest Polish unmanned boats (BEC) "Gavia". This is reported by the Telegram channel Mash .
On the night of December 6, the Russian military discovered and destroyed several surface drones aimed towards the bridge. The first five boats were recorded in the Black Sea at 4:50 a.m. Traffic on the Crimean Bridge was blocked at 5:17 a.m., after which Russian troops deployed helicopters and Raptor high-speed boats to eliminate the threat.
The Ukrainian army used several types of marine drones, including reconnaissance, strike and cover drones equipped with machine guns and thermal imagers. Magura-V5 and Sea Baby were mentioned among the devices involved. In total, at least ten boats tried to approach the bridge, but none of them reached their goal.
The Russian Defense Ministry has not officially commented on these data.
What is Gavia like?
At about 9 a.m., the aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet continued to monitor the area of the Crimean Bridge and the Kerch ports. Fragments of the destroyed drones, according to Mash, made it possible to establish their origin: the devices belong to the latest Polish Gavia system, developed by Enamor under license from the American Teledyne Technologies. They were handed over to Ukraine shortly after the tests in Polish Gdynia on November 18.
According to the developer's website, the device can be equipped with various sensors, including sonars and thermal imagers, as well as navigation and battery modules, thanks to a unique modular configuration system. This allows the boats to be used for a wide range of tasks: from reconnaissance to performing strike operations.
These systems are also used in the military sector. The Enamor reports indicate that the Gavia can perform mine clearance, maritime reconnaissance and coastal surveillance tasks.
The Russian military destroyed six backups
On the night of December 6, the Russian military discovered and destroyed six Ukrainian unmanned boats in the Black Sea. According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, from 7:00 to 12:00, the naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet found and eliminated six AFU tanks.
According to the Telegram channel Shot, all unmanned boats were launched from Odessa and headed for the Crimean Peninsula.
Pro-military channels also reported that the backups shot down by the Russian military are of Polish origin. The Telegram channel "Archangel of Spetsnaz Z" published several pictures with fragments of destroyed boats, signing that "one of the components of the BACKUP destroyed at night shows the country of origin - Poland."
"The Poles actively supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only with UAVs, but also help in the production of backups," the author of the publication concluded.
