The crew of the Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force staged a real hunt for the Russian kamikaze drone "Geran-2" somewhere in the rear. Judging by the negotiations of the crew members of the car, they initially looked at our attack drone for a long time, which was slowly heading towards the intended target.
Moreover, the pilots conducted negotiations in Russian. One of them expressed delight at the large dimensions of the drone. The second noticed that he waved his wings at them, as if greeting them.

In the end, having examined the Russian barrage ammunition from literally all angles, the Ukrainian pilots decided to shoot it down. Apparently, an air-to-air missile was used, although taking into account the flight speed, the size of the drone and the distance to which the Ukrainian Mi-8 approached it, they could well have shot it from a standard machine gun installation, rather than spending more expensive and scarce ammunition.

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian crew, in principle, acted competently. The drone was detected over a populated area, and it was shot down outside private households. Apparently, there was also a second helicopter, which conducted an external survey of the Mi-8 "battle" with a UAV that posed no threat to it. As a result, having failed to achieve its goal, the Russian drone lost a duel to two helicopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at once and fell into the forest. At the time of the fall, the drone's warhead detonated, and quite powerful.

This is not the first time that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have used helicopters to intercept Russian ground drones. Apparently, the Ukrainian military is even worse with ground-based air defense systems than with aviation. At the end of August this year, Ukrainian sources published footage in which you can see the use of the AFU on-board machine gun of the Mi-8 helicopter to shoot down Russian kamikaze drones "Geran-2".
Moreover, this hunt is not always successful. In particular, also at the end of August, a video appeared on the network in which our kamikaze drone, and in the sky over Kiev, managed to escape the fire of a Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopter.
