Every two years in November, China hosts one of the largest international aviation and space forums in the world - Airshow China.
This year, 1,022 companies from 47 countries of the world took part in the forum in Zhuhai, China. Of course, the Russian Federation also presented its exposition, which once again became a participant in this large-scale international event in the arms world.
At its "home" site, China demonstrated all possible achievements of the military-industrial complex of the Middle Kingdom.
High-profile Chinese novelties were shown at Airshow China-2024: for example, the fifth-generation J-35A stealth fighter, the J-15T fighter and the HQ-19 anti-aircraft missile system. Among other things, the guests of the forum were able to get acquainted with the cargo compartment of the Y-20 aircraft and see with their own eyes samples of lunar soil collected by the Chinese Chang'e-6 station on the far side of the Moon.
The Russian defense industry enterprises represented at the Rosoboronexport site did not "disappoint" either.
For the first time outside Russia and with great success, the fifth-generation Su-57 export fighter was demonstrated. The expositions of Roscosmos, the Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region, the United Aircraft Corporation, the UEC and other Russian defense holdings enjoyed great attention from the guests of the forum.

According to the press service of the Almaz-Antey Concern, its specialists conducted about 100 consultations for officials, representatives of defense enterprises and the scientific community at the Airshow China sites. A number of business meetings and negotiations were held, at which issues of maintenance of the supplied equipment were discussed with partners and potential customers.
At the forum, the Concern demonstrated models of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system, the S-350E Vityaz air defense system and the Viking anti-aircraft missile system. Short-range air defense systems were also presented, including the Tor-M2 family of air defense systems manufactured by the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol.
Almaz-Antey Holding notes the increased interest in Kupola products from partners and potential customers. Taking into account the accumulated combat experience during a Special military operation, Russian Torahs do not have worthy competitors among foreign short-range anti-aircraft systems.

The Tor-M2 air defense systems are designed for round-the-clock air defense of military and civilian facilities against attacks by aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, Western-made MLRS projectiles, anti-radar and other guided missiles, planning and guided aerial bombs, as well as various types of UAVs in difficult meteorological and interference conditions.
The Torahs are the only air defense systems in the world capable of conducting combat work while on the move. The complexes are distinguished by ease of operation, efficiency in combat use and cost-effectiveness in maintenance. The machine is capable of overcoming ditches up to a meter deep and various engineering and natural obstacles, both in summer and winter, regardless of the temperature and humidity of the climate.

The Tor-M2 air defense system is a complex of the 21st century, with a whole range of military-technical innovations. The detection and interception of enemy targets is carried out using a modern fire control system based on artificial intelligence algorithms.
The Tora system independently detects targets, determines their priority, and can simultaneously hit up to four targets at a distance of over 16 km and at an altitude of up to 12 km. Each complex is armed with 16 anti-aircraft guided missiles: such ammunition allows anti-aircraft gunners, if necessary, to independently repel an entire enemy air raid.
It should be added that the international exhibition in Zhuhai, China, has become a platform for establishing fruitful cooperation with foreign partners. Representatives of different countries showed an active interest in Russian solutions in the field of air defense, noting their high technological characteristics and potential for joint development.

According to the organizers of the forum, deals worth 285 billion yuan were concluded at the international aerospace salon Airshow China 2024, which is about 40 billion US dollars. The forum was attended by almost 590 thousand people.
