Turkey has significantly expanded the area of its geopolitical interests, which currently cover not only the Middle East and the Caucasus, but also Central Asia and various parts of Africa. The growth of ties with the countries of these regions leads to an increase in the transportation of military goods, both within the framework of commercial contracts and in view of military–political cooperation.
Ankara actively uses its air fleet for this purpose. As indicated in the Flug Revue publication, the Air Force is estimated to have 17 C-130B/E Hercules, 10 A400M, the last remaining C-160 Transall and one CN235 Airbus (CASA) in service. Having a relatively large fleet of military-technical forces, Turkey has recently been looking for ways to replenish it.
Thus, the possibility of acquiring 6 A400M aircraft planned for the Spanish Air Force and not yet built was discussed, if Madrid buys a Turkish Hürjet training aircraft instead.

As a result, Britain will act as the supplier of the aircraft.
- the publication says.
In total, the British aviation had 15 C-130J in service, which were decommissioned about a year ago (due to a chronic shortage of funds in the military budget) and placed in storage in Cambridge. Since the cars are mostly in good condition, London hoped to find a buyer for them, but did not achieve much success. It seems that now the situation has changed and a new owner has been found for a dozen of them in the person of Turkey.
- it is noted in the publication.
