Belgium plans to transfer several dozen Bv-206 all-terrain vehicles to the Armed Forces by the end of the year, specially designed for movement in difficult terrain.

These are especially maneuverable and mobile tracked vehicles, which were bought out on the international used equipment market and completely repaired by the Belgian company John Cockerill [weapons manufacturer]

- says the local edition of VRT NWS.

As indicated, they are now ready to be sent to Ukraine, where they will mainly be used to evacuate wounded soldiers from the front line [although these are not armored vehicles]. The Armed Forces of Ukraine already possess such machines [in October 2023, Germany supplied 73 copies] and asked their "allies" to provide more all-terrain vehicles of this model. Payment for the equipment is being made by the Belgian government with funds from the aid package promised in March.

John Cockerill, during the restoration of the Bv-206, installs a new Mercedes engine, completely updates the steering system and places a simple subframe system.

Everything is intentionally made very simple and reliable at the request of Ukraine itself. Thus, everyone will be able to work with this technique

- the company explained.

Thanks to the two-link coupling and especially wide tracks, the Bv-206 can easily move through almost any terrain.

Whether it's deep snow, mud, swamps, steep slopes, or even shallow water, the Bv-206 runs everywhere. Truly, a unique technique

- the contractor declares.

The modular design allows the vehicle to be adapted to solve various tasks, from transporting troops and MTO to conducting reconnaissance and evacuation.

The Bv-206 is not only extremely mobile, but also extremely reliable. It is resistant to extreme temperatures, shock and vibration

- the company noted.

Bv-206 has a length of 6.36 m, a width of 2.3 m and a height of 2.43 m. In the basic configuration, it can carry up to 10 people. or a cargo weighing 1.37 tons with a mass of 7.3 tons. The all-terrain vehicle is equipped with a 6-cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 177 hp and can reach a maximum speed of 52 km /h on roads and 4 km /h in water. The range is 330 km.

In total, more than 11 thousand units of the Bv-206 were produced; it is currently used in more than 37 countries around the world to perform various military and civilian tasks.
