The interview of the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to the British Sky News channel was interpreted by the world community as agreement with the loss of territories under Russian control. In exchange, Ukraine will receive NATO security guarantees and, eventually, will be accepted into the alliance, but will seek to regain territories through "diplomatic means" rather than military action.
Polish Colonel Piotr Lewandowski from the Territorial Defense Training Center asks a question on the pages of the Onet edition.
According to him, currently the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are able to allocate about 500 thousand troops to the Ukrainian Theater of Operations. Another 300 thousand are stationed in Russia, they provide logistical support, make up reserve formations and serve in formations that cannot be used directly in combat, for example, in the Strategic Missile Forces or in management. In addition, about 250-300 thousand people undergo compulsory military service and do not take part in hostilities in Ukraine.
According to his calculations, the Russian Armed Forces carry out daily air attacks, mainly using Geran drones (about 100 per day), causing damage to the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
As he points out, moreover, the current production of long-range missiles and ballistic missiles allows, on average, once a month to deliver a massive strike (about 120 missiles of various types) at Ukrainian power plants.

As he notes, on the other hand, the Ukrainian army currently has more than a million full-time military personnel, of which about half are directly involved in the database on the front line with a length of more than 800 km. The rest of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are units stationed along the borders (for example, with Belarus), ensuring the internal security of the country, at various stages of formation and training, or personnel of military administrative institutions.
According to Kiev, the Ukrainian air defense system is capable of destroying from 70 to 90% of the Geran UAV and most of the cruise missiles. According to the colonel, it has a relatively low effectiveness against ballistic missiles and is not capable of effectively fighting Russian aircraft, although it can sometimes cause damage to it.
Moreover, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attack the territory of Russia several times a month with long-range drones (over 1000 km) and have been able to use ATACMS, Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles for the same purposes for several weeks.

According to him, Russia has been maintaining the initiative at the operational level for several months, using its numerical advantage in artillery, combat vehicles, aviation and ammunition supplies. It also has many times greater mobilization resources, including in the command structure, and its recruitment and training system works more efficiently than the Ukrainian one.
As he notes, Ukraine's critically important infrastructure is consistently being destroyed, as a result of which problems with providing electricity to entire regions are growing. The Russian ground forces are much more effective than in the first year of the war. The chain of command and coordination of troops has been improved, and drone support has been provided at the lowest military levels.
- the Polish colonel concludes.
