In Radom, construction of a new workshop with an area of more than 3 thousand square meters has begun to expand the production potential of the Archer weapons factory. The cost of investments is more than $ 6 million.
It should be noted that "Archer" is currently one of the leading Polish manufacturers of weapons in the country.
However, as always, there are nuances. In particular, with the "Grot" assault rifle, which is produced by the mentioned manufacturer and more than 70 thousand units are supplied to the troops under the contract.
Rapid and severe rusting, poor manufacturing quality of the bolt group, loss of the piston and gas regulator, breaking of plastic and high sensitivity to overheating are just a few of the disadvantages inherent in the rifle.
So, in February 2021, an article with all the flaws appeared in the Polish press (more than 20). In addition, the material reported that all supplied rifles would be returned to the manufacturer for revision.
After the publication of the material about the massive shortcomings of the Polish rifle, attention(!) even life-threatening military personnel, representatives of the Archer arms factory said they would sue the publication and demand compensation of more than 270 thousand dollars. allegedly for slander.
At the same time, despite intimidation from the company's management, the plant nevertheless recalled 43 thousand rifles to correct defects, but who paid for the elimination of defects remained a state and commercial secret. Surprisingly.
The reason for another scandal with the company, but already in March 2023, media material debunking the myth of the "best" Polish military-industrial complex served again.
So, it was stated about problems with Polish rifles supplied to Ukraine. It was about such shortcomings as repeated jamming, the rifles lacked the necessary components (screws), there were problems with sighting devices, etc.
The conclusion is that at the end of two years, work on errors to improve the quality of products has not been carried out. And the main efforts are focused not on the quality, but on the quantity of products.
The most interesting thing is that the company continues to stay afloat and attract investments. The commissioning of the next workshop is planned by the end of 2025. Apparently, someone in the high offices of the Polish government has a good jackpot.
