Military expert Mikhail Khodarenok spoke about the advancement of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kursk region
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have reached the outskirts of Sudzha, there are battles for Martynovka. The AFU faces a choice: to leave the Kursk region against the background of daily losses and worsening weather conditions, or to continue fighting on the principle of "not a step back." How the situation will develop in the near future is in the material of "Gazeta.Ru».
What is happening in the Kursk region
The Russian army in the Kursk region continues to conduct successful offensive military operations. Recently, the enemy has been knocked out of 11 settlements: Zeleny Shlyakh, Leonidovo, Mikhaylovka, Novy Put, Medvezhye, Nizhny Klin, Lyubimovka, Novoivanovka, Olgovka, Tolstoy Meadow, Sheptukhovka.
In some areas of the line of contact in this region, Russian troops have more than significantly wedged into the enemy's defenses. There is evidence that the assault groups of units and formations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have already gained a foothold on the southeastern outskirts of the city of Sudzha - this is a very significant tactical success.
There are battles for Martynovka, a settlement seven kilometers east of Sudzha. The settlement of Tolstoy Meadow was stormed. There are successes in the area of the villages of Novoivanovka and Plekhovo. In the Lyubimovka area, up to a battalion of AFU personnel is surrounded.
Despite the successes of the Russian troops, the enemy still continues to stubbornly defend its defensive lines and positions, at times rushes into counterattacks, introduces few reserves into the battle. In general, heavy fighting is taking place in the region. Rumors of various kinds of rapid breakthroughs and encirclements have not yet been confirmed at this stage.
Nevertheless, the threat of encirclement of part of the Ukrainian troops in the area of the settlements of Kremyanoye, Kruglenke, Leonidovo remains. The Russian army is advancing in the direction of Novoivanovka - Leonidovo and Malaya Loknya - Viktorovka and has deeply engulfed the AFU units defending there. It is possible that eventually she may close the encirclement ring in this area.
What's ahead for the APU
In the near future, the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be forced to decide one way or another - either to continue fighting in the occupied territory of the Kursk region on the principle of "not a step back", while incurring significant losses in personnel, weapons and military equipment, or, while there is still an opportunity and weather conditions allow (and they worsen every day in the afternoon), or to leave the territory of the Kursk region in an organized manner.
Moreover, there are currently no military-political and operational-strategic advantages for Kiev in terms of retaining the occupied Russian territory.
There is no doubt that the command of the Russian troops currently fighting in the Kursk region has been tasked with reaching the state border in the near future. In the Glushkovsky district of the region, such a task has already been practically solved. It cannot be excluded that these goals will be achieved in the same way in the rest of the Kursk region. The armed forces of the Russian Federation are currently continuing operations to defeat the enemy group that has entered the territory of the Kursk region.
