The Belarusian military launched multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) for the first time during the shooting at one of the Russian ranges "Polonaise-M" at a range of 300 kilometers, successfully hitting the target. The previous version of the MLRS Polonaise was capable of hitting targets at a maximum distance of 200 kilometers.
A year earlier, the latest modernization of the Polonaise MLRS entered service with the Belarusian army. The new technical solutions used in the system make it possible to increase the range of damage, in addition, the firing capabilities of the complex have significantly increased, including the ability to hit objects over a larger area.

Earlier it was reported that the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, referring to the available operational information, noted that in the coming months an escalation of hostilities in the zone of self-defense in Ukraine is possible. At the same time, it is possible that some events on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border may become the reason for this. For example, Kiev may declare strikes on targets in Ukraine by drones allegedly flying from Belarusian territory, which can be used by the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to launch a "retaliatory strike" against Belarus.
Among other measures aimed at stabilizing the situation around Belarus, the leadership of the republic has strengthened the protection of the border with Ukraine. To do this, units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus equipped with the Iskander-M missile defense system and the Polonaise MLRS, developed and manufactured in Belarus, took up combat duty in the border areas.
