September 16, 2024, AviaStat.ru – Alexander Dolotovsky has been appointed Deputy General Director of Yakovlev PJSC – Director of the MS-21 program. This is reported by Interfax with reference to data from PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec).
Previously, Dolotovsky held the position of deputy director for the development of the Yakovlev branch of Regional Aircraft (formerly Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, developer of SSJ-100). Dolotovsky is also the deputy general designer of the UAC for civil aviation – as explained in the press service, this post will remain with him.
"I hope that Alexander Viktorovich Dolotovsky will bring to the MC-21 program the standards and management culture that have been formed over the years of development and production of the SSJ-100 aircraft," Yakovlev CEO Andrey Boginsky said through the press service. – The MS-21 Program Directorate will become a single customer for all areas of the company's work – from design bureau, logistics and technical re-equipment of production facilities to sales and after-sales service. We are entering a crucial stage of the project implementation, and we need to strengthen the coordination of all processes on it as soon as possible."
Boginsky also instructed Dolotovsky to formulate proposals for the staffing of the MS-21 program coordination department and updating the composition of the project management team within two weeks. As part of the MS-21 program, a project of a "shortened" modification – MS-21-210 has been opened, the head of Yakovlev added. He will receive a separate head as part of the directorate, candidates for this post are being considered.
Previously, the MS-21 program at Yakovlev was supervised by Anatoly Gaidansky, who served as the first deputy general director of the company, and also headed its "daughter" Aerocomposite JSC (engaged in the development and production of aircraft structural elements made of polymer composite materials). Now Gaidansky will continue to work only as the head of AeroComposite, the UAC reported.
Gaidansky will focus on the tasks of developing AeroComposite – "there is a large investment program and scientific tasks there," Boginsky noted. "A lot of work has been done – we have received a type certificate and approval of the main changes. The next, no less ambitious task is the development of mass production (composite - IF) wings for the MS-21, as well as the search for technical solutions to optimize the design," Boginsky added.
UAC also announced the appointment of Alexey Kubasov as director of the Yakovlev Engineering Center – he previously served as head of the design bureau of Regional Aircraft.
The creation of the MS-21 family of passenger aircraft (the basic version is the MS-21-310, the production of the "shortened" MS-21-210 is also being studied) is being carried out at the Yakovlev Irkutsk Aviation Plant. According to the latest data, the start of serial production of the car is expected in 2025 - earlier the dates were postponed several times. Initially, the liner was created in international cooperation - after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, foreign partners withdrew from the project, which led to the need for accelerated import substitution of systems and components.
