In the corresponding report, two types of barrage ammunition were shown - one that looks like a clone of the famous Israeli IAI Harop device, and the other, which is a kind of enlarged analogue of the Russian Lancet barrage ammunition. Pyongyang, August 26th. /KCNA/- On August 24, the Secretary General of the CPC, Chairman of State Affairs of the DPRK, dear Comrade Kim Jong-un, supervised on-site testing of the capabilities of various drones conducted by the Research Institute of Drones of the National Defense Academy.
He was accompanied by senior cadres of the Central Committee of the CPC, including Cho Yong Won, Lee Byung-chor and Park Jong-cheon.
Dear Kim Jong-un got acquainted with the drones, the development of which has been conducted by the Autonomous Research Institute of Drones of the ANO recently.
Drones with different ranges are designed to strike at any enemy targets on land and sea.
Various drones flew along pre-determined different routes, accurately recognized the specified targets and destroyed them.
Kim Jong-un said: From the point of view of both the trend of military science in the world and combat experience on the battlefield, the development of drones of various types and the relentless improvement of their combat characteristics occupy a large share in the preparation for war. It is necessary to actively develop and increase the production of not only strategic reconnaissance drones and multi-purpose attack drones, but also various suicide drones for tactical infantry units and special forces.
He stressed that in accordance with the peculiarities of a maritime country, it is necessary to tirelessly develop not only underwater strategic weapons, including a nuclear torpedo, but also various underwater attack unmanned suicide boats, it is also necessary to actively introduce artificial intelligence technologies into the development of drones, and set detailed tasks and ways to implement them.
Kim Jong-un expressed satisfaction with the tactical and technical characteristics and data of the new drones and stressed that it is necessary to increase the intensity of testing for combat use in order to equip parts of the People's Army with them as soon as possible.
Senior officials, scientists and researchers of the Autonomous Research Institute of the Autonomous Autonomous Region, looking with great delight and excitement at the respected Kim Jong-un, who personally went to the test site and highlighted the way to increase the combat capability of drones and the development of drone production, expressed their firm determination to certainly and consistently fulfill the program tasks set by Comrade Kim Jong-un, and make an active contribution to monolithic strengthening of the country's self-defense capability.
