Heavy assault armored vehicles based on American M1 tanks were sent by the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to help their group attacking the Kursk region.
Photos of the loading of the M1150 Assault Breacher Vehicle appeared on the Lostarmour website some time ago. Due to the fact that 120 mm guns were removed from them, this technique is called "Abrams" without guns." One remote-controlled 12.7mm M2 Browning machine gun remained from the armament.
Containers with the M58 MICLIC remote mine clearance system are mounted in the rear of the tower, which is structurally similar to the one used in the Soviet UR-77 Meteorite mine clearance installations, also nicknamed "Snake Gorynych". The crew consists of two people.
It was reported that the mass of the M1150 has increased significantly, even compared to the most recent versions of the M1. Because of this, mobility and cross-country characteristics have significantly deteriorated.
In total, the APU lost two such vehicles, and one became a trophy. There are three samples left in the ranks. But if they are sent back to the line of contact, in the near future we will definitely see how well they burn.
