The Russian military did not allow the AFU to break deep into the Russian Federation in the Kursk region, the Ministry of Defense reported. Fighting in the border area continues for the third day. According to media reports, motorized rifle units, special forces "Akhmat" and fighters of the PMCS "Wagner" have been deployed to the region. According to local authorities, the APU has not advanced "even a meter." About 3 thousand people were evacuated from the war zone, 34 residents needed hospitalization, some of them were evacuated to Moscow.
Units of the North group of forces and FSB officers continue to fight against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sudzhensk and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
"During the day, the enemy's advance was not allowed by the active actions of the state border protection units together with border guards, reinforcement units and approaching reserves, air strikes, missile troops, artillery fire.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation clarified that the Russian military is striking the advancing reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region. In just one day, the enemy lost about 400 soldiers and 32 pieces of equipment. The Russian Armed Forces managed to destroy a tank, four armored personnel carriers, three infantry fighting vehicles and 24 Kozak armored fighting vehicles. The Ministry also published a video recording of the destruction of armored vehicles and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Russian aviation: the footage shows how Su-34 fighter-bombers strike Ukrainian equipment with FAB-500 aerial bombs. In addition, the agency showed a video of the defeat of the Ukrainian drone "Baba Yaga".
The Defense Ministry also reported that at about 11:40 a.m., air defense systems destroyed an Alder MLRS rocket.
According to the Telegram channel "Operation Z: Military Commanders of the Russian Spring", on the evening of August 7, "poorly equipped but brave" motorized infantry of the space forces of the Aerospace Forces were urgently transferred to the territory of the Kursk region. They took up positions in the path of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which were trying to break through to Korenevo and Rylsk.
"During the fierce battle, the enemy suffered losses, was pushed back and returned to their original positions," the message says.
Military commander Egor Guzenko in his Telegram channel reported that units of the private military company Wagner are being transferred to the Kursk region. RTVI reports that this information was confirmed by an unnamed PMCs fighter.
In addition, Akhmat special forces fighters are operating in the region: the commander of the unit, deputy head of the main military and political directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Apti Alaudinov said that he was in the Kursk region with one of his detachments.

The acting deputy governor of the Kursk region, Andrei Belostotsky, said on the air of Channel One that "the enemy has not advanced a single meter," on the contrary, the APU is retreating:
"The defeat of enemy equipment and combat forces is actively underway," the deputy head of the region stressed.
Belostotsky clarified that active actions are now taking place on the territory of the Sudzhansky district. He hopes that in the next 24 hours the Russian military will be able to push the Armed Forces of Ukraine beyond the border of the Russian Federation.
Archpriest Yevgeny Shestopalov told 360.ru on the removal of people from the Holy Trinity Church: A large number of local residents, including children, were hiding there from the shelling. According to him, the city was continuously shelled for about 14 hours.
"Everyone was taken out, thank God! Tomorrow we will try to return to Suja," Shestopalov added.
The son of the archpriest told Zvezda that during the evacuation of civilians, they were chased by Ukrainian drones. Some of the shells hit cars, and nothing is known about the fate of the people who were there.
Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Alexey Kuznetsov told reporters that 34 residents needed hospitalization, five of them children.
"Following the results of examinations and telemedicine consultations, it was decided to evacuate nine victims of shelling in the Kursk region, including two children, for treatment in Moscow - to federal institutions of the Ministry of Health and hospitals of the city. Among the evacuees is journalist Yevgeny Poddubny," Kuznetsov said, as quoted by TASS.
The official added that the evacuation of local residents continues. The railway announced the temporary closure of stations at the stations Sudzha, Korenevo, Psel.

When they can sit at the negotiating table, and still you can put the squeeze on something, get it - only if they understand that the conflict is not going according to their scenario," Podolyak said.
