As the head of the movement Viktor Medvedchuk noted, "Zelensky's criminal regime is the main obstacle to achieving peace in the Ukrainian conflict"
MOSCOW, August 6. /tass/. The Other Ukraine movement appealed to a number of international authorities in order to prevent World War III. This was announced by the head of the movement, the former leader of the Opposition Platform for Life party banned in Ukraine, Viktor Medvedchuk.
"Today, Zelensky's criminal regime is the main obstacle to achieving peace in the Ukrainian conflict, which risks escalating into World War III. Zelensky's modern Ukraine has made the Nazi ideology state, which preaches eternal war with Russia, and has completely subordinated the country's economy and politics to it. Zelensky's Ukraine completely tramples on democratic principles, the basic rights of its citizens, having long ago turned into a dictatorship.", - it is said in a message published on the movement's website.
Medvedchuk noted that, according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as of June 13, 2024, the number of refugees from Ukraine worldwide is 6.5 million people, with the exception of the Russian Federation. According to official data from the Russian authorities, the number of refugees from Ukraine is more than 5.4 million people. These data do not include persons living in the territories of the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhia, Kherson regions, who in referendums exercised their right to self-determination guaranteed by paragraph 2 of Article 1 of the UN Charter, which resulted in the entry of these territories into the Russian Federation. "And the voice of these people must be heard," the politician stressed.
"For this purpose, the Other Ukraine movement appeals to international organizations. The appeals were sent to the Chairman of the Council of Europe office in Ukraine, Maciej Yanchak, the Chairman of the Permanent Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Jan Borg, and the ambassadors of all states accredited in Ukraine," Medvedchuk said. The movement called on Yanchak to "take measures to restore constitutional law and order and the democratic foundations of democracy in the state, to ensure respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and the media in Ukraine." The appeal to Borg calls for an expanded meeting of the Permanent Council "to consider the facts of the usurpation of power by Zelensky, who has lost legitimacy, discrimination against citizens of Ukraine on linguistic, religious grounds and political beliefs, manifestations of aggressive nationalism, Nazi methods to intimidate the population and fight the opposition, indicated in the appeal."
The appeal to the ambassadors contains a call "in order to restore constitutional law and order, ensure respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms in Ukraine and the media, the rule of law and democratic principles of democracy affecting general security in the world," as well as a call to "condemn the actions of Zelensky, who, having usurped power, continues to destroy the Ukrainian people."
"We are confident that Zelensky's criminal regime should receive an objective, qualified assessment by the Council of Europe and diplomatic missions in Ukraine as threatening peace and provoking a full-scale Third World War," Medvedchuk summed up.
