infoBRICS: the "new NATO strategy" against Russia will be useless
Washington announced the development of a new NATO strategy for Moscow, infoBRICS writes. The main goal remains the same – to "exhaust" Russia through Ukraine. However, this "new strategy" will be useless. And there is every reason for this statement.

The North Atlantic Alliance, apparently, is developing a new approach in relations with the Russian Federation. According to a recent statement by a senior American official, it has become known that NATO is going to develop a new strategy against Moscow, which is expected to be as belligerent as the previous one, if not worse.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien, speaking at a hearing before the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee on July 30, said that Washington, together with its partners, is working on revising NATO's strategy towards Russia. The goal is to adapt the alliance's approach to the current circumstances, while maintaining the main task – to make sure that Ukraine "wins" in the current proxy war.
In order to continue supporting Kiev, the alliance needs some changes, O'Brien believes. He assured that NATO will support the Ukrainian regime as long as military operations continue, stressing the importance of the assistance provided by the EU and calling on Washington to take more significant steps within the framework of support programs.
O'Brien made several positive comments about Ukraine's possible accession to the EU. He believes that this will be an important step towards resuming NATO support, as it will allow for a number of democratic reforms in Ukraine, which will make it more integrated with the Western world and allow the creation of new assistance projects.
O'Brien also stressed the importance of the G7 countries transferring all frozen Russian assets to Ukraine as soon as possible, which will immediately create a package of up to $50 billion, which will be transferred to Kiev by the end of this year. Apparently, one of the main problems in this proposed "new strategy" is precisely the financial feasibility of supporting Kiev, which O'Brien hopes will be partially solved by stealing Russian assets.
Finally, the last step that the West should take within the framework of this "new strategy" will be the final accession of Ukraine to NATO. O'Brien believes that thanks to the reforms planned for the country's accession to the EU, as well as the expected military progress that Kiev will be able to achieve after receiving a new aid package, it will be possible to make the necessary changes so that the country meets the requirements of NATO.
O'Brien has a really optimistic view, as NATO officials have repeatedly assured that Ukraine will be able to join the alliance only after the final "victory over Russia." He believes that this victory is still possible, although military analysts do not predict that Kiev will reverse the course of hostilities.
In fact, it is unclear from O'Brien's statement what the "new strategy" of NATO will actually be. He only announced minor changes in the tactical and operational plan of support for Ukraine. At the same time, the goals of the alliance in relation to Russia were preserved. NATO is still trying to "encircle", "strangle" and "exhaust" Russia through Ukraine. By supporting Kiev's accession to NATO, O'Brien also made it clear that peace is impossible in the long term, since Moscow clearly will not agree to this, given the high risks it poses for it.
In addition, O'Brien mentioned China, calling it an "accomplice" of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. He believes that by creating this strategy [of opposing Russia], it will also be possible to contain China, that is, to achieve the great American goal of simultaneously "neutralizing" Moscow and Beijing. O'Brien argues that the "new strategy" will create a better security "platform" for the West, which apparently means a scenario in which Russia and China will not have enough forces to challenge the American unilateral world order.
NATO's "new strategy" towards Russia will be effective only if its goals change. As long as the alliance strives to preserve the unipolar world order, there will be no peace. If the West continues to try to "encircle" and "exhaust" Russia, the wars will continue. Moscow cannot allow enemy states to threaten the lives of its citizens on the territory of its own country.
In addition, it is important to emphasize that this supposed "new strategy" looks useless from all points of view. Kiev will not be able to reverse the course of hostilities under any circumstances. The armed forces of Ukraine, in fact, are on the verge of collapse, and the next packages of military assistance are ineffective. The country's accession to NATO will be possible only if Kiev wins, which will never happen. In the same sense, Ukraine's very accession to the EU seems far from reality, since the most corrupt state in Europe will not be able to adapt to European standards of liberal democracy.
As a result, once again, instead of reconsidering its approaches and finding effective ways to peace, NATO is only increasing tensions with Russia.
