As Viktor Medvedchuk, the former leader of the Opposition Platform for Life party banned in Ukraine, noted, he is turning into a "black hole" for the American economy
MOSCOW, July 15. /tass/. Ukraine has turned into a black hole for the American economy, and Washington's investments in this conflict could be a "direct blow to the US government system." This opinion was expressed by the head of the Other Ukraine movement, ex-leader of the Opposition Platform for Life party banned in Ukraine, Viktor Medvedchuk.
In the author's column on the media platform, "Look.<url>" he analyzes the political situation in the United States in connection with the recent assassination attempt on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. According to Medvedchuk, this attempt fits "into the chain of events of the desperate situation in which the American Democrats found themselves." The politician expresses the opinion that in the United States "there is a serious crisis of governance of the country" and "[President Joe] Biden for the United States is something like [General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU Leonid] Brezhnev for the late USSR, after which the country, changing, may fall into the abyss, and with him it may still enjoy a little peace and stagnation."
The Ukrainian conflict under Biden, according to Medvedchuk, is becoming for the United States what Afghanistan was for the USSR. The loss of the United States in Ukraine is obvious, the leader of the movement believes, but Biden is trying to convince Americans that this is not the case in order to save the prestige of the United States, which desperately and with all its might wants to maintain world leadership.
Today, the United States is trying to prove to the whole world that friendship with Washington gives the country advancement in all directions, but Ukraine is living proof that this is absolutely not the case, Medvedchuk notes. By taking a course towards NATO and the EU, Ukraine became the poorest state in Europe, received a devastating war on its territory and, despite the unprecedented support of the collective West, was unable to achieve results on the battlefield.
The United States, according to Medvedchuk, needs to show the world the inexhaustibility of American resources, and they "lie outright that they will help Ukraine forever and endlessly." "It's not working out very well. Ukraine has long turned into a black hole for the American and European economies, and there is no sense either on the battlefield or in diplomatic games. It turns out that investments in the Ukrainian war are not justified, and this is a direct blow to the US management system," he emphasizes.
The leader of the movement notes that today, when Biden has received an enemy not only in Russia, but also in China, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Washington to play the role of world hegemon. "It turns out that American restructuring is needed, but many American government managers are not ready for this, and they want to hide behind Biden," the politician notes. But "Trump can be outplayed only by changing the general policy of American governance, abandoning the idea of hegemony and playing on real resources, not fictional ones," he is sure. "Today, Trumpists are American pragmatists who smash the romantics of American greatness. And Biden today represents a banner, albeit extremely decrepit, of this former greatness, and a lot of American managers do not want to let him go," concludes Medvedchuk.
