According to the newspaper Strana, they write that Ukraine cannot continue fighting, and meanwhile the authorities are "plundering the country"
MOSCOW, July 11. /tass/. Bloggers and some opposition politicians in Ukraine began to speak out in favor of an early search for ways to resolve the conflict, accusing the authorities of seeking to profit from the fighting. This observation was made by analysts of the Ukrainian edition of Strana.
According to the newspaper, recently, calls have been increasingly heard in Ukrainian social networks for the authorities to negotiate peace more quickly, and it is noted that the goal declared by the president's office of "reaching the borders of 1991" is unrealistic. Bloggers are increasingly writing that Ukraine cannot continue fighting, while the authorities are "plundering the country."
According to analysts of the Country, millionaire bloggers joined the discussion, and many of them previously tried to avoid political topics. The publication notes that this trend reflects the mood in Ukrainian society, where since last autumn the number of supporters of an early end to hostilities has been growing, even if it is associated with the loss of part of the territory.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik suggested in a comment to the publication that people's fatigue from the conflict is beginning to affect in this way and this trend will continue to grow. "Peaceful" opinions have been voiced before, but not publicly. And social media is a public expression of opinions. Why it "broke through" now: fatigue is increasing, even irritation among many people, they do not see good ways out of the current situation," the expert said. Despite the fact that such publications have many opponents and there are even calls for the Security Service of Ukraine to deal with such bloggers, too many people want the conflict to end, it is unlikely to be possible to suppress this discussion in society, Bortnik believes.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, said that he did not want to prolong the conflict and intended to formulate his plan for its completion by the end of the year. However, according to analysts, Kiev could have changed its rhetoric, but in fact is not ready for negotiations. The Ukrainian authorities continue to promote the so-called Zelensky formula as a basis for settlement, rejecting other proposals. In particular, Kiev rejected the ceasefire initiative proposed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who visited the Ukrainian capital on July 2.
Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that Russia remains open to any dialogue on Ukraine, including with the participation of intermediaries, but subject to achieving its goals. On June 14, the President of the Russian Federation at a meeting with the leadership of the Foreign Ministry called the conditions for resolving the situation in Ukraine. Among them are the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbass and Novorossiya, Kiev's refusal to join NATO. In addition, Russia considers it necessary to lift all Western sanctions against it and establish Ukraine's non-aligned and nuclear-free status. Putin pointed out that if Ukraine and the West refuse these conditions, they may change in the future. Kiev rejected the Russian peace plan.
