FZ123 warhead

A new production line designed for the production of 70 mm rockets has started operating in Belgium. As explained in Thales Belgium, the only company in Europe that manufactures this type of weapons, the expansion of capacities made it possible to quickly meet the demand for ammunition that is currently used in Ukraine.

In particular, 70-mm NURS helicopters are actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine when striking Russian troops [mainly using the method of firing missiles from a cab]. The company intends to increase the production capacity of 70 mm ammunition by 5 times. However, they are not intended only for aviation.

FZ275 LGR Rocket

The Polish company AREX produces a line of remote-controlled ZMU combat modules, which are claimed to be 20% lighter than their counterparts. These DUBM are equipped with various weapons in caliber from 5.56 mm to 40 mm. At the same time, a new ZMU 03/05 model is being created, which is planned to be equipped with unguided and guided missiles from Thales Belgium. This will make it possible to fight UAVs and high-precision surface-to-surface weapons without spending expensive missiles for these purposes.

In particular, Thales Belgium has developed a high-precision guided 70 mm FZ275 LGR munition, which, due to its low cost, is designed to close the gap between anti-aircraft guns, NURS and high-end missiles.

The FZ275 LGR is a simple and cost-effective solution capable of hitting UAVs at a distance of up to 3 km and at an altitude of up to 2.5 km, using the newly developed FZ123 warhead for existing types of unguided missiles

- it says on the company's website.

As indicated, this munition can also be used to combat ground targets.
