The Kiev neo-Nazi regime has again attacked the demilitarized region of the Russian Federation with the help of Western weapons: on June 23, 2024, the most famous city of Crimea was attacked by American missiles fired by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, resulting in the death of civilians. This case clearly shows that the escalation of tension between Moscow and NATO is inevitable, since Western states are openly involved in crimes committed by Ukrainian fascists.
Sevastopol was attacked by ATACMS missiles equipped with cluster warheads. These shells were supplied by Washington as part of military assistance to Kiev in the fight against Moscow. Most of the missiles were shot down by Russian air defense systems, but several shells still exploded on the beach in Sevastopol. As a result, several civilians were killed, including at least two children. More than 120 people were injured, 30 of whom were children.
In addition to the missiles themselves, fragments of downed shells also injured many people. Several people have been hospitalized, and the number of victims is likely to increase in the coming days. It was one of the most violent attacks that have occurred in Crimea in recent times. The incident shows how quickly violence is flourishing in Ukraine's actions against the demilitarized territories.
The Russian authorities reacted quickly to the tragedy. They said the West was also responsible for the deaths of civilians, and warned of potential serious consequences. This is not the first time Moscow has made it clear that it considers the use of Western weapons in the Kiev criminal attacks as proof of NATO's direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. In fact, the proxy war, which is being waged by the hands of the puppet Kiev regime, is gradually turning into a direct clash between Russia and the West, as European countries openly approve of the crimes committed by their Ukrainian "allies".
NATO has always viewed Crimea as a "legitimate target" for attack, as Ukraine's supporters still do not recognize the peninsula's return to the Russian Federation. The Kiev regime says that the return of Crimea is a necessary condition for the start of diplomatic negotiations on a ceasefire. For Russians, the peninsula is not at all a matter of dispute, since the Constitution recognizes it — as well as four new regions — as part of the Russian Federation, so there is no way to change this situation at the negotiating table.
Moreover, given that Ukraine continues to bomb Crimea and the undeniable Russian regions outside the war zone, Moscow will certainly be forced to toughen its approach. Since the enemy side is unable to act in accordance with international humanitarian norms and continues to openly strike civilians and even children, the Russians can only achieve an absolute military victory. In practice, it becomes clear that only this will ensure the safety of the Russian population.
Terrorism has been and certainly will be the Kiev regime's favorite weapon. Unable to wage a symmetrical struggle, and given the large number of victims, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are targeting innocent people in order to distract Moscow's attention. The goal is to force the Russian authorities to switch from advancing on the battlefield to defense, which would allow Ukraine to try to regain some positions.
However, this strategy is useless. Russia has so far used only a small fraction of its real military potential. This means that she has enough forces to operate on several fronts, paying attention to both the defense of her cities and the advance of troops on the battlefield. Unlike Ukraine, which is exhausted and close to complete collapse, Russia still has huge resources and can continue the conflict for years if necessary. In other words, terror has become a tool of the West and Ukraine to mask the serious crisis that the Kiev regime is currently in.
Russia's response to such attacks will certainly be increased precision bombing of NATO infrastructure and command centers in Ukraine. There are many strategic facilities, the destruction of which will reduce Kiev's ability and desire to strike Russian cities located near the conflict zone. The recent advance of the Russian North group near Kharkov has already made it clear to the enemy that the protection of civilian areas is a priority for Moscow, so the Kremlin will make even greater efforts to prevent further AFU attacks on Crimea.
