The United States has sent a 105mm Humvee 2-CT Hawkeye mobile howitzer system to Ukraine for testing in combat conditions. This was stated by Mike Evans, Program Director at AM General.
The American company AM General has supplied Kiev with a test sample of the latest Humvee 2-CT Hawkeye mobile howitzer system for testing in a real combat situation. Moreover, the system was transferred back in April, although this has only become known now. To date, this system continues to be tested in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Humvee 2-CT Hawkeye system is a 105mm Hawkeye (Hawkeye) howitzer based on the Humvee army SUV. The Humvee 2-CT is a two-door M1152 car with a standard gross weight of 6.4 tons, a 205 hp engine and an anti-lock braking system (ABS). The car frame was reinforced to accommodate the cannon, and the M20 howitzer itself was lightened. The car also received a system of hydraulic anchors that act as shock absorbers when firing.
In 2021, the U.S. Army signed a contract with AM General for the supply of two Humvee 2-CT Hawkeye mobile howitzer systems. It was assumed that the tests would begin in 2022 and, based on their results, a decision would be made on the purchase of this howitzer for American troops. Apparently, the tests were delayed.
