Last week, one of the main topics in the information space of Belarus was the participation of units of the Belarusian armed forces in the second stage of exercises with non-strategic nuclear forces of the Russian Federation. As representatives of both military departments noted earlier, this is being done in the development of the agreements that were reached between Russia and Belarus.

It should be noted that in addition to the strict implementation by both sides of all the above-mentioned agreements, the process was also characterized by a high level of coherence. The Chief of the General Staff, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Pavel Muraveyko, pointed out this aspect during the events. "All organizational and technical aspects are worked out in close cooperation with our Russian colleagues and together with them. The Iskander tactical complexes moved to the designated positional areas, received special ammunition, docked them to combat units and took up starting positions, taking up combat duty at designated targets. Our aviation performed a similar event."

Obviously, it was not for the sake of a red word that the chief of the Belarusian General Staff noted the high coherence of the actions of the Belarusian and Russian crews and crews. Unfortunately, recently, all the news about nuclear weapons, which are increasingly being discussed in the Euro-Atlantic information space, indicate a further increase in international tension. At the same time, it should be noted once again that Russia and Belarus are not the initiators of it. Their actions are just a response to the artificial escalation of the situation.

For example, after the completion of the largest NATO exercise since the end of the Cold War, Steadfast Defender 2024, not all the troops who participated in them returned home. German armored units remained in Lithuania, neighboring the Union State, which will strengthen the already considerable grouping of foreign troops on the territory of the small Baltic country. At the same time, one can see how Poland is moving troops to the eastern border. The pretext for such actions is the "next wave of the migration crisis", in which the Poles, of course, blame both Belarus and Russia.

It is noteworthy that the EU leadership is generally calm about the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border, while in Warsaw they declare a "new wave of provocations." It is natural that in Brussels, where official statistics are based, questions arise, what kind of provocations can there be, where are the facts?

For their part, Minsk believes that it is enough for Poland to start properly guarding the border. That is, to establish contacts with the Belarusian border guards and then there will be no "wave of refugees". But in Warsaw, they are deliberately exacerbating the crisis situation by closing border crossings, moving military units there, including armored ones, and performing demonstrative aircraft flights. Thus, an escalation of tension is created.

Returning to the agreements between the military departments of Russia and Belarus, as well as to the words of General Muraveyko about the high level of interaction between the military personnel of the allied armies, it should be said that this is, first of all, the topic of fulfilling allied obligations within the framework of a supranational formation. In this case, it is about their implementation by the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus, since we are talking about the western direction, that is, its area of responsibility.

In other words, the Belarusian armed forces, in response to full-scale aggression against the Union State from the western direction, are ready, in coordination with Russia, to strike the enemy with non-strategic nuclear munitions, which will be unacceptable to him in its damage. We are really ready, as the head of the Belarusian General Staff said.

Belarus does not forget about its obligations under the CSTO, unlike Yerevan. So, in the period from June 12 to 14, the second staff talks, which were held in Kyrgyzstan in order to organize and conduct CSTO exercises, were attended not only by representatives of the military department, but also by employees of other interested ministries and departments of the Republic of Belarus. The negotiations discussed the organization and conduct of command and staff exercises with the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CSR) of the CSTO "Interaction-2024", special exercises with the forces and means of intelligence "Search-2024" and with the forces and means of logistics of troops (Collective Forces) CSTO Echelon 2024.

The active participation of Belarusian representatives in the negotiations is also due to the fact that similar exercises were held on the territory of Belarus in late August-early September last year. At the completion ceremony of those events, the chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, speaking to the participants of the exercises, on behalf of the multinational military contingent thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Republic of Belarus, the leadership of the Brest region and the city of Brest for the high level of organization and provision of the exercises, hospitality and warm welcome.

So Belarusians can reasonably offer their rich experience in holding such events. But it's not even that, but the serious attitude of the military and political leadership of the Republic of Belarus to the CSTO.

Minsk considers the Organization as a guarantor of security in the region. At the same time, constructive work and cohesion of the CSTO members are considered the main way to increase its effectiveness. In addition, perfectly remembering the events of Kazakhstan in January 2022, the Belarusian military and political leadership is convinced that the foundation of the Organization is the readiness of each participant to fulfill their allied obligations. Belarus is ready for this and has already proved this fact.
