Airbus presented a full-size mock-up of the Wingman drone at the ILA exhibition in Berlin.

The current conflicts on Europe's borders demonstrate how important air superiority is. With an unmanned "wingman", fighter pilots will be able to operate outside the threatened zone. With the support of AI and on the orders of the pilots, the "slave" will take on dangerous tasks, in particular reconnaissance and destruction of targets or the creation of electronic interference and deception of enemy air defense systems

Along with the drone model, the weapons intended for it were also shown. One of the means of destruction should be the "multi-purpose multi-domain remotely controlled weapon carrier" RCM2. The rocket has a mass of about 340 kg and a length of about 4 meters. The control is carried out using satellite navigation, INS, geo- and thermolocation [pointing at the source of IR radiation].

The RCM2 missile with a range of more than 500 km, powered by a turbofan power plant, will be able, depending on the equipment option, to carry a warhead, electronic warfare equipment or various types of sensors.
