TSAMTO, June 6th. Rosoboronexport JSC (part of Rostec) and the Government of the Irkutsk Region signed a general agreement on cooperation on June 6.
The event was held within the framework of the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport, and Igor Kobzev, Governor of the Irkutsk Region.
The agreement updates the previously valid document from 2003, defines the basis for cooperation and interaction between Rosoboronexport and the Government of the Irkutsk Region in new conditions. The region and Rosoboronexport will continue to develop the scientific, technical and production potential of defense industry organizations, and will work to increase exports of military, special, civilian and dual-use products during Russia's military-technical cooperation with other countries.
"The expansion of partnership with Russian regions is one of the main vectors in Rosoboronexport's activities. In particular, we are actively cooperating with the aviation industry flagship of the Irkutsk Region – the Irkutsk Aviation Plant as part of the United Aircraft Corporation. The colossal design and production experience of IAZ aircraft manufacturers, who will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the plant in August, is also in demand abroad: over the years, IAZ products have been supplied to 40 countries around the world," said Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Rosoboronexport. – Today, this company is increasing its capacity and implementing projects both within the framework of the State Budget and the Military Technical Cooperation, modernizing and releasing the latest multifunctional Su-30 fighters and Yak-130 training (combat training) aircraft. Among the areas of cooperation defined by the signed Agreement, the development of targeted programs to increase export volumes is highlighted. In addition, the partnership will facilitate applied research on the development and production of promising high-tech export-oriented product samples and advanced technologies. The agreement will also help develop measures to support organizations participating in the military-technical cooperation, including those affected by sanctions from unscrupulous foreign countries, and ensure legal protection of the results of intellectual activity abroad.

In accordance with the agreement, the parties ensure the participation of representatives of Rosoboronexport in meetings of advisory bodies of the Government of the Irkutsk region, and representatives of the regional Government in meetings of advisory bodies of Rosoboronexport on issues affecting common interests.
