Moscow is stepping up the refinement and starting the production of similar missile systems
Moscow. the 6th of May. INTERFAX - The United States has embarked on the path of deploying INF complexes in various regions, in case they appear anywhere, Russia reserves the right to respond in a mirror manner and terminate the unilateral moratorium on the deployment of such systems, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
In a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the Russian Armed Forces conducting exercises to practice the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, published on the agency's website on Monday, it said that the United States "openly and clearly embarked on the path of deploying ground-based complexes with intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles (INF) in various regions, which were previously prohibited under the Treaty about the INF."
On Smolenskaya Square, it was noted that after the termination of the treaty, the United States "immediately intensified the development and testing of missile systems of this class, and also began to form specialized military units with a regional link and study the issue of creating the necessary infrastructure."
"Now the United States has begun to import the appropriate missile systems to Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, ostensibly for the duration of exercises with allies, which indicates that the production and "running-in" of these weapons is in full swing," the statement said.
"We explicitly state that whenever and wherever American-made ground-based INF missiles appear, we reserve the right to react in a mirror manner, which will mean the termination of the unilateral Russian moratorium on the deployment of these weapons systems," the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that in response to the actions of the United States, Russia is "stepping up the refinement and starting production of similar missile systems."
"Moreover, taking into account the previously announced R&D and the accumulated achievements of the Russian military-industrial complex, this process will not take much time. When making potential decisions on the deployment of such weapons, we leave the geography of their deployment at our discretion," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
They stressed that NATO is "consciously leading the case for further escalation of the Ukrainian crisis towards an open military clash between NATO countries and Russia as part of the implementation of a hostile course to inflict a "strategic defeat" on our country.
"We state that the aggressive desire of NATO countries to undermine the security of the Russian Federation is gaining momentum. In this regard, we would like to remind you that the guaranteed protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country is the highest priority of Russian policy in the field of military security, including the aspect of nuclear deterrence," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Thus, in a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that it is expected that "American-made multifunctional F-16 aircraft will appear in the Ukrainian Theater of Operations in the near future." "As has been repeatedly pointed out by the Russian side, we cannot ignore the fact that these aircraft belong to dual-equipment platforms - non-nuclear and nuclear. Aircraft of this type have been the basis of the fleet for many years, which is involved in the so-called "joint nuclear missions" of NATO," Smolenskaya Square noted.
They stressed: "Regardless of which modification these aircraft will be supplied in, we will perceive them as carriers of nuclear weapons and consider this step by the United States and NATO as a deliberate provocation."
The Russian Foreign Ministry also drew attention "to the statements of the Polish leadership that the issue of the need to deploy American nuclear weapons on Polish territory was directly put by Warsaw to Washington, and in a practical plane."
The statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry also says: "The statements of French President Macron about the possibility of sending French and other NATO contingents to Ukraine cannot but amaze with their irresponsibility and thoughtlessness. Moreover, information has appeared in the Western media that a number of mercenaries from the French "Foreign Legion" are already in Ukraine. It is difficult to perceive this otherwise as a manifestation of readiness and intention to enter into a direct armed confrontation with Russia, which would mean a frontal military clash of the nuclear powers."
