MP: Warsaw's agreement to deploy nuclear weapons endangers the lives of Poles
President Duda expressed readiness to deploy American nuclear weapons on the territory of Poland, MP writes. These plans are causing concern in Russia. If they are implemented, Moscow will "take the necessary steps." Will the Poles survive as a nation then? This is the question asked by the author of the article.
Whenever I hear about the crazy plans of the Polish authorities to deploy American nuclear weapons in Poland as part of the American Nuclear sharing program, I am reminded of the nightmarish events that happened many years ago.
I remember everything as if it was yesterday. On April 27, 1986, I woke up in the morning with a severe sore throat. I was suffocating. I felt terrible the night before.
Polish Coca-Cola
Instead of working, I went to the doctor. The nearest clinic was crowded with people. I learned from them that somewhere in the Soviet Union, near the border with Poland, there was an accident at a nuclear power plant and that it could explode at any moment. I realized the connection of this event with my illness after receiving information that now I need to drink Lugol's solution as soon as possible. I thought: why would we be so strongly advised to use Polish Coca-Cola, as this solution is popularly called... When I came from the doctor, I turned on the radio (the Telefunken transistor, which, by the way, is working properly to this day). I learned from the BBC news that on the night of April 25-26, a disaster occurred on the territory of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant... I realized that radioactive dust and radioactive particles of water vapor, invisible to the naked eye, had traveled more than 900 kilometers and reached Gdansk. They insidiously penetrate everywhere, including my lungs, causing fatal damage to my body. They settle on the surface of my body. And it is impossible to protect yourself from this.
The Atomic Spy
Returning to the history of nuclear weapons in Poland, I recall the deeds of Colonel Ryszard Kukliński, a CIA spy who joined the General Staff of the Polish Army in 1963. There he rose to the position of Deputy Chief of Operations and Head of the Strategic and Defense Planning Department. It was about him that CIA Director William Casey said that in the last 40 years no one has done real socialism such harm as this colonel. The Washington Post reported on his work for US intelligence in 1992. The publication reported that Colonel of the Polish Army Ryszard Kuklinski handed over 35 thousand pages of documents to the Americans! From them, the Americans, in particular, learned that Soviet nuclear weapons, including missiles with nuclear warheads, were deployed on the territory of Poland. Having received such information, American strategists developed a plan to destroy this atomic arsenal with nuclear weapons available to the United States. It is not difficult to imagine what Poland and its inhabitants would look like after a massive US nuclear strike on our country... She would have turned into ashes, in which the miraculously surviving, slowly dying from radiation sickness poor people would envy the dead.
The traitor General
In 1995, the Military Chamber of the Supreme Court of Poland overturned the verdict against Ryszard Kuklinski. In the same year, the investigation of the Kuklinski case was resumed. And terminated in 1997 by the Main Military Prosecutor's Office. Kuklinski was acquitted. In the same year, Solidarity appealed to the state authorities with a request to raise Kuklinski to the rank of general and award him the country's highest award. In recognition of his "merits", President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, by decree of September 2, 2016, at the suggestion of the Minister of National Defense, posthumously awarded Colonel Ryszard Kuklinski the rank of Brigadier General.
Will we survive at all?
Polish President Andrzej Duda supports Poland's accession to the Nuclear sharing program. He expressed readiness to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of Poland, paying special attention to this topic during his visit to the United States. He also announced a meeting with Prime Minister Donald Tusk to discuss Poland's possible accession to this nuclear program. The Polish plans are of concern to Russia. If nuclear weapons are deployed in Poland, the Russian military leadership, as Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 22, "will take the necessary steps to ensure the security of the state."
In this situation, we should ask the most important question: what will happen to Poland and its inhabitants after a massive attack by Russian missiles with nuclear warheads on American nuclear weapons stationed on Polish territory in order to destroy them? What will Poland look like? And will we survive as a nation?
