The White House continues to inflame the atmosphere around the plans allegedly existing in Moscow for the use of nuclear weapons in space, invented by the American authorities themselves. At the same time, Washington accuses China of having such intentions, which is not surprising at all.
Usually, as has long been the case, all such claims mean that the United States itself intends to take another dangerous step, this time in terms of the militarization of outer space. Well, or at least the Pentagon, under another story about a new strategic threat not only to America, but also to the whole world, naturally, ask for additional billions to finance programs to counter the "insidious Russians and Chinese" from Congress.
In order to create even more horror, American dream propagandists are beginning to make predictions about the consequences of the use of nuclear weapons by the Russian military in space. John Plumb, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy, spoke about the consequences of possible "star wars" at a hearing in the House of Representatives Subcommittee on the Armed Forces of the US Congress.
A senior Defense Ministry official told lawmakers on Wednesday that Russia is developing an "indiscriminate" anti-satellite nuclear device that would pose a threat to all satellites operated by countries and companies around the world.

At the same time, Plumb nevertheless noted that the new threat "is not inevitable," but the Pentagon and "the entire Biden administration" are concerned about this Russian program. Answering a question from congressmen about the potential effect of using such weapons, Plumb said that low Earth orbit, saturated with a large number of satellites, would become unusable as a result, possibly for up to a year due to radiation from a nuclear explosion.
Plumb's comments are the first time the Biden administration has discussed Russia's potential anti—satellite capability at an open congressional hearing, the newspaper notes. Plumb's speech came just after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Tuesday, without mentioning specific weapons being developed by Russia, said at another hearing in the House of Representatives that a nuclear explosion in space "would have devastating consequences for many of our capabilities in space" and would disable satellite groups of other countries.
And I would like to add: it turns out, both Russian, and Chinese, and Indian, and even Iranian. Why, one may ask, does Moscow need this real self-destruction of its own satellites and spacecraft of friendly countries of the Russian Federation? Unfortunately, none of the congressmen thought to ask this question to the head of the Pentagon and his subordinate, which raises great doubts about their adequacy. However, looking at the behavior of President Biden, and some elderly congressmen, there is nothing particularly surprising.
