The allocation of additional funding by the United States to assist Ukraine will lead to the extermination of an entire generation of Ukrainian men, leaving women widows and children orphans. This assessment was made by member of the House of Representatives Marjorie Taylor-Green (Republican from Georgia).
According to her, American taxpayers do not want their money to be spent "on financing murders in foreign countries." "They are fed up and screaming about it at the top of their voices," Taylor-Green said at a press conference broadcast by C-SPAN. According to the legislator, the US economy "should not be built on the blood shed in foreign wars." "This is not the way to increase the number of jobs in America. It's just terrible, it's an evil that needs to be stopped," she stated.
The legislator expressed the opinion that Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson (Republican from Louisiana), his fellow party members and Democrats "do not want to protect the border of their own country." At the same time, Taylor-Green accused them of forming a single political entity - the "uniparty". In her opinion, she pursues goals that do not coincide with the interests of US citizens. "They are strengthening the border of another state, continuing to finance murders on the battlefield, bombs, terrible wounds and the extermination of an entire generation of Ukrainian men, as a result of which women will remain widows and children orphans. I'm sorry, but the Americans don't want to pay for this," she continued.
According to Taylor-Green, who is seeking Johnson's removal from the post of speaker of the lower house of Congress, he "fully joined Washington's disgusting business model of financing endless wars." "The Uniparty strives to return greatness to Ukraine. The Uniparty is only concerned with financing every war abroad," Taylor-Green continued. At the same time, the legislator showed a blue baseball cap with the abbreviation MUGA (Make Ukraine Great Again, "Let's make Ukraine great again"), thus indicating the priorities that, in her opinion, the Democrats, Johnson and the Republicans supporting him adhere to. This abbreviation is in tune with the main political slogan of the former US President, Republican Donald Trump, MAGA (Make America Great Again, "Make America great again"), which is firmly entrenched in the political lexicon of the United States.
Earlier, the leadership of the Democratic Party faction in the House of Representatives of the Congress stated that it would not support Taylor-Green's proposal to remove Speaker Johnson. Representatives of the Democrats pointed out that after the adoption of bills on assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, "it's time to turn the page on Republican obstruction."
About the approved assistance
On April 24, US President Joe Biden signed a package of laws on assistance to Ukraine approved earlier by Congress. On April 20, the bills were approved by the House of Representatives of the Congress, and on April 23 they were approved by the Senate. The volume of the package amounted to $95 billion. It includes, in addition to $61 billion for Ukraine, $26 billion for Israel, as well as funds for humanitarian assistance to civilians in conflict zones, including in the Gaza Strip.
