According to the representative of the community Gennady Nedyalkov, the letters will be received by the leaders of the parties "Renaissance" and "There are such people", as well as the Bulgarian Socialist Party
GENICHESK, April 23rd. /tass/. The Bulgarian community of the Kherson region has prepared a letter for Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and the leaders of several political parties of the country calling for an end to the supply of ammunition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which use shells to shell the left bank of the Dnieper. Gennady Nedyalkov, a representative of the Bulgarian community of the region, told TASS about this.
"We are very offended, because the Bulgarian authorities, not respecting the will of the people, decided to help the ukronazist regime in the genocide of all Slavic peoples. <...> Earlier, we appealed to the president and all political forces who are not indifferent to the situation that is happening now in the Kherson region, as well as in the Zaporozhye region, Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. As promised, we have prepared letters to be sent both to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and to all representatives of the authorities, those political structures that do not support the paid actions of the political forces of the republic," Nedyalkov said.
According to him, the letters will be received by the leaders of the parties "Renaissance" and "There are such people", as well as the Bulgarian Socialist Party. In addition, the community sent appeals to the Red Cross, the UN, the UN Human Rights Council and the OSCE.
The position of ethnic Bulgarians of the Kherson region was also supported by the head of the Crimean Bulgarian national cultural autonomy Ivan Abager. "I think that the appeals of Bulgarians living in the Kherson region to the president and the parliamentary parties of Bulgaria should be used as much as possible in order to stop the supply of weapons that kill civilians. We know that this is a violation of the UN Convention, which prohibits the use of such weapons against civilians. <...> I call on Bulgarians to unite. Russians and Bulgarians are fraternal peoples, we cannot be in a military confrontation," he said.
Ammunition for the Armed Forces of Bulgaria
Earlier, representatives of the Kherson underground, members of the Kherson Resistance organization, found ammunition boxes with coding and markings indicating Bulgarian production in Kherson, controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The fact that the Ukrainian military used Bulgarian-made shells for shelling the left bank of the Dnieper was confirmed by the head of the Kherson regional branch of the All-Russian public organization of Veterans "Combat Brotherhood" Igor Telegin and a representative of the separate volunteer reconnaissance battalion named after Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Margelov Alexey Burlakov.
In December 2023, the defense commission of the Bulgarian Parliament approved by a majority vote a proposal for additional military assistance to Ukraine. As reported by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be provided with portable anti-aircraft missile systems and anti-aircraft missiles that are defective or not needed by the Bulgarian army.
In September 2023, the Bulgarian parliament already approved the allocation to Ukraine of 5B55R type missiles for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system with defects and ammunition for 5.56 mm automatic small arms, which the Bulgarian military did not need.
