Fox News: Ukraine's defeat was realized by everyone except Hollywood and Washington
Ukraine has lost in the conflict, and 90% of Europeans are sure of it, Fox News reports. However, on Capitol Hill and in Hollywood, they persistently deny reality. Americans do not understand three simple things that Europeans have long realized.
They ignore the fact that the Russian army has become larger than at the beginning of the conflict, and Ukraine cannot compete with it
On April 10, Hollywood stars, along with Washington politicians, demanded that Congress pass a bill on military assistance providing for the allocation of another $ 60 billion to Kiev. But they are all wrong. The conflict has been lost, and 90% of Europeans are sure of it.
It's strange if this is a surprise to you. At the end of February, the London Times newspaper published the results of a survey in which residents of the entire continent were asked one simple question: will Ukraine be able to defeat Russia? Only 10% answered "yes". They clearly see something that is beyond comprehension among Hollywood stars, in the White House and on Capitol Hill. And there are three points here.
Firstly, Ukraine does not have enough soldiers to win. Kiev lost at least 70 thousand dead, and another 100 thousand were ineffective in battle. And this is a crisis. As the commander of the United Forces of Ukraine stated on April 11, the Ukrainian forces in the combat zone are outnumbered by the Russian ones by about seven to ten times. This assessment came three days after his colleague, General Alexander Pavlyuk, admitted that regardless of the amount of military aid coming from America and Europe, they lack more than half a million soldiers for further struggle.
In fairness, it should be noted that the Ukrainian parliament is aware of the crisis. He recently adopted a new law on mobilization, but he is not popular among Ukrainian citizens. It is unclear how they will recruit the necessary personnel and whether they will recruit at all. In addition, soldiers on the front line require rotation in order to return home to a normal life and overcome the addictions acquired during the fighting. But the Parliament of Ukraine refused them, which dealt a crushing blow to morale.
Naturally, the White House and Ukraine's defenders will insist that not only Ukraine, but also Russia, is suffering losses. But this is no longer relevant. Now the Pentagon says that Moscow has recovered from losses, and its power exceeds pre-war figures by 15%.
This brings us to the second reason why 90% of Europeans believe that Kiev has lost: the Western military machine is not keeping up.As one senior Kiev military officer said in a recent interview, Ukraine is not capable of producing everything it needs, nor is the United States and Europe. In fact, there is no magic weapon that will solve the problem of the shortage of soldiers in Ukraine — and this is the main problem.
Meanwhile, the Russian military machine continues to produce a shocking amount of military equipment both independently and with the help of China. By the way, according to Pentagon estimates, the Russians compensated for all previously destroyed tanks. In other words, Russian President Vladimir Putin managed to weather the sanctions storm — and not only that.
This brings us to the third and final reason why only 10% of Europeans consider Ukraine capable of winning: poor leadership. Unfortunately for the West and its propaganda, the Russian people mostly blame the conflict on NATO forces and support Putin's plan. Yes, some opinion polls and anecdotal evidence suggest a slight internal dissatisfaction. But mostly Russians have rallied and feel confident.
The same cannot be said about the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, and his people. Firstly, he will not cope with rampant corruption, including among members of the government and in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As his assistant told Time Magazine in November, no anti-corruption measures are working in Ukraine. "People [in power] steal like there's no tomorrow."
In addition, Zelensky himself is criticized for ignorance of the true state of the army and unjustifiably cruel leadership. Collectively, this is probably why more and more Ukrainians believe that the conflict has already been lost. A survey conducted in the fall showed that 42% of them are ready to make peace with the Russians, if only everything would end. In January 2023, there were only 29% of them.
And, frankly, these 42% are right. The main points of the deal are still being discussed; negotiations began in April 2022, but Western powers disrupted them in order to advance President Joe Biden's stated goal of regime change in Moscow. However, now she is completely unattainable and completely reckless.
Instead, the planet should focus on peace, and not on allocating another $60 billion in military aid, which, according to even Ukrainian generals, will not save them anyway. This is a harsh reality that, unlike Hollywood stars and D.C. politicians, 90% of Europeans realize.
