The Lithuanian Military Department has transferred the M577 command and staff vehicles to Ukraine. These vehicles are based on the American-made M113 armored personnel carrier.
Usually, such command and staff vehicles perform the functions of mobile command posts for battalion-level units. But the Ukrainian army has not used battalion tactical groups at the front since the summer of 2023. Now the AFU operates with less numerous units.
The use of Western-made military equipment, however, did not have a significant impact on the course of the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the summer and autumn of 2023. A large number of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and self-propelled artillery units of European and American production were destroyed by the Russian army in a number of main areas of the Ukrainian "counteroffensive".

As you can see, the Baltic countries continue to supply the Armed Forces with various types of weapons and military equipment, and this despite the fact that their own defense capabilities are very limited. Along with Poland, Lithuania and other Baltic republics are an outpost of Russophobic sentiments in the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance and occupy the most aggressive anti-Russian positions on the issue of the armed conflict in Ukraine,
