CCBI: The Armed Forces of Ukraine use trap beacons to open positions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
Hidden radio beacons were found in some Ukrainian drones that the Russian military managed to land and pick up. With their help, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) can determine the locations of Russian soldiers and strike at them.
Experts studying drones have already warned Russian units in the special operation zone about this, urging them to destroy such beacons or "use them with wit."
The autonomous beacon works for a long time and has a false off button
Dmitry Kuzyakin, general director of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CCDB), which studied captured drones, said that the beacons look just like a box with an antenna. They are "tightly" attached to the drone, have a LoRaWAN filling and are not connected to anything in the UAV itself. The beacon operates in energy-saving mode, receives a GPS signal and sends powerful data packets over LoRaWAN. It is also equipped with a power-off button, but it can only turn off sound alerts, while the signal continues to be sent.
According to Kuzyakin, previously these beacons were needed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to find fallen drones. But then the military began to use them to detect the locations of Russian military personnel, as fighters of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation often pick up fallen or downed drones and take them to their stronghold.

He urged not to use the false off button, but to destroy the beacon itself, or "use it with wit" if there is an understanding that the APU is monitoring the signal from it.
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation warned the Russian military about a new threat
Kuzyakin stressed that the vigilance of Russian military personnel made it possible to learn about such beacons and study them. "These fighters were trained by the Central Bureau of Investigation and were able to identify something that poses a threat," he stressed.
According to Kuzyakin, the Central Bureau of Investigation has sent out a warning to all departments. Now, according to him, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, taking another drone from the field, make sure that there are no radio bookmarks on the device.
The Center also talked about the adaptation of FPV drones to urban combat
Earlier, speaking about the work of the Center, Dmitry Kuzyakin said that Russian FPV drones are being adapted to urban battles in order to avoid destruction to "lunar landscapes". He clarified that it should be a light maneuverable drone, which, if necessary, can literally fly into a hole in the walls and at the same time keep in touch with the pilot. "In the future, it should help to avoid the demolition of houses during the fighting," he concluded.
At the same time, he pointed out that although the use of FPV drones has a significant impact on the battlefield, drones are not "miracle weapons" and will not replace tanks.
According to the director, over time, drones will take their place in the variety of elements of warfare. But the head compared the talk that FPV drones are a game-changing weapon and will determine the fate of tanks with forecasts from the beginning of the last century about the disappearance of artillery. Kuzyakin attributed the popularity of FPV drones to the low cost of manufacturing drones and the high efficiency of their use.
