TSAMTO, April 1st. On March 30, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu, checked the progress of the implementation of the state defense order by defense industry enterprises in the Altai Territory.
The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation inspected the production of complex components for weapons and ammunition at the defense industry enterprise, which produces components for aviation and anti-aircraft ammunition, ammunition for multiple launch rocket systems, grenade launcher ammunition and cartridge belts.
The head of the enterprise reported to Sergei Shoigu that since 2022, the plant has increased its output 3.5 times. The production base is actively developing, new sites are being launched, and additional production facilities are being built. Last year, about 300 new machines and equipment were installed at various production sites.
Over the past 2 years, the number of employees has doubled, by more than 1,600 people. At the same time, the salary level of the plant's employees increased by 30% and exceeds the average salary level in the Altai Territory.
Army General Sergei Shoigu was informed that in 2023, his own licensed training center was opened, focused on the needs of the enterprise, in which about 200 specialists will be trained by the end of this year.
Also, at the enterprise for the production of components for ammunition equipment, Army General Sergei Shoigu was informed that the volume of production has been tripled since 2023.
This was achieved through ongoing projects to modernize production lines with modern high-tech equipment, as well as expand production capacities.
The head of the enterprise stressed that large-scale construction of a new complex of production and storage facilities has begun at the plant.
Army General Sergei Shoigu set the task to speed up the process of building new production facilities.
Following the results of the work, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation held a working meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, representatives of relevant military authorities and general directors of enterprises.
Army General Sergei Shoigu noted that, as part of the implementation of the decision of the President of the Russian Federation, work has begun on the technical re-equipment of production lines in almost all areas of manufacturing weapons and ammunition.
"This applies to both military equipment and all necessary components for ammunition equipment. Both for rocket and barrel artillery, as well as for aviation ammunition," the Russian Defense Minister stressed.
Sergei Shoigu also noted that large-scale reconstruction is underway at the enterprises.
"The decision of the President of the Russian Federation, which was adopted in July last year, is being implemented. The funds have been allocated in full and there are no questions about financing. The enterprises have purchased equipment that is necessary for technical re-equipment. Construction materials have been purchased for all facilities. The only thing that prevents us from fulfilling the tasks that we face in a timely and planned manner is issues related to design," the head of the Russian military department stressed.
The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation demanded to resolve issues related to the delay in the development of project documentation as soon as possible and to hold accountable those organizations whose fault disrupted the construction of new facilities.
"In general, enterprises are fulfilling, and in some areas they are exceeding the 2024 program.
The main thing is that we can continue to fulfill the state defense order at a sufficient pace and volume in the 4th quarter of 2024 and in subsequent years," Sergei Shoigu was quoted as saying by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
